----------------------------------------------

The Clarion EQS746 is more than just an equalizer. First thing, the sound quality of this equalizer is hard to find even in professional studio grade equipment, with Signal-To-Noise Ratio (S/N) of 105 dB, a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of 0.005 % and Frequency Response from 10 Hz - 50,000 Hz, this equalizer is definitely for people who want to hear music as was recorded, no noise, no distortion, wide dynamic range means high quality sound without compromise.
To make things even better the Clarion EQS746 inputs/outputs are all gold-plated, so you get no corrosion and better signal transfer.

The Clarion EQS746 also acts as a Low-Pass Crossover with selectable frequency of 60 Hz or 90 Hz (12 dB/octave Crossover Slope), add to that a separate subwoofer volume level control at your finger tips and a stereo sub-out --which makes perfect sense-- you're in control of the bass!

For the little amount that this EQ costs, the features it has are priceless. The EQ is very good quality, it has everything you need to make your system sound great.
I installed mine into the dash below my head unit. I love the Aux switch it has, as I can switch from my head unit to my ipod with the click of a button. As a wonderfully clean and crisp sound to my system. Love the fact that it has independant bass and volume control so I can control how loud my woofers are.
The blue lights are nice, sometimes a little bright. Knobs are very solid and perform well. Would buy again and put into almost any car audio situation. I believe it is one of the best that amazon sells for such a reasonable price. If you buy it, you won't be sorry. Its a great product and will last.
I've had mine now for almost a year and it is still in excellent condition. Has been working great!

drives them better then before and the control you get with the sub and hight is perfect, i didn't expet much for 50bucks, i was suprised.

First Off, I typically Only use Alpine Processors in my cars as I used to run a shop of my own. This car Is my budget thrasher and I needed an Inexpensive way to enhance the Sound out of the basic Sony head unit.. I chose the Clarion solely on the fact that it was one of very few with more than 5-bands adjustment.

I am extremely surprised and happy with the quality of this unit! The range of adjustment is excellent. The big surprise was the improvement in the sound from the subwoofer. Much warmer tone and better punch than the signal delivered from the Sony's sub channel.

Also note that I am running this through a high quality Alpine PDX amplifier and get no signal noise or static with adjustments like you would expect from a low cost EQ device. The Clarion EQ is very clean.

I run an Alpine head unit, Soundstream door and deck speakers, a Kicker 5-channel amp and a 10" Kicker Comp Sub. My system sounded pretty good but I knew it was missing something. I picked the Clarion up for $50 and now know it was the most effective $50 I spent on my entire system. My system went from sounding pretty good to sounding exactly how I wanted it to. The installation was straight forward and fairly easy. The hardest part was figuring out where to mount the eq. The wiring configuration was easy to understand and I had no problems hooking everything up. If you're undecided about buying this eq don't be. Buy it already! This is what you're missing. It gave me the ability to limit the frequencies I wanted and to bring out the ones I seemed to be missing. I also could tell my sub was putting out frequencies near 125hz despite the built in crossover in my amp. Now it's putting out the lows I want it to and my deck and door speakers are putting out the mid bass that was bleeding into the sub. Buy this eq-you will be sitting here afterward writing a similar review for it because you'll be as happy with it as I am.

Works suprisingly well for the price. however I have a lightweight racing battery in my car and for whatever reason the equalizer will not function without the car started. My battery apparently does not produce enough voltage, so my alternator must also be turning. Just a warning that a weak battery will not power your system alone.
Other than that it works great, there was a noticable reduction in distortion at higher volumes after installing this product. be weary of interference from power wires though, my amp power wire ran close to the equilizer and caused lots of static. moving it away a few inches solved the problem.
