4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money
I don't normally take the time to write a review on a product of this price but I feel got more than I paid for.
Instructions are never that helpful with these sort of products but in this case they were easy to read and for the most part accurate.
This was a simple purchase to add remote key less entry to an older vehicle and it works great I was able to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Remote keyless Entry
This product is what it says it is, No Bells No Whistles. Works Great for what it is. The bad news is instructions are very difficult to understand and if you don't understand auto wiring I wouldn't recommend ammatures to install this product.
Please, take it to a professional.

Instructions are never that helpful with these sort of products but in this case they were easy to read and for the most part accurate.
This was a simple purchase to add remote key less entry to an older vehicle and it works great I was able to install with no previous experience in about an hour.
Product is small well made and came with some additional features like blinking blue dash light when doors are locked (looks like an alarm) parking light flash, horn honk, and dome light supervision, 2 three button remotes that don't look cheap and other features I had the option for but chose not to use.
For the price it's a great buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Everything that I expected, March 4, 2010

I installed this unit in my 1992 BMW, which took about 20 minutes. All I need for this car is a lock and unlock signal. This unit provides the signal and works well. The BMW uses either front door lock or the trunk lock to provide the central locking system with the signal to operate the actuators. All I had to do was install this unit in the trunk behind a trim panel wired in parallel with the trunk lock switch. I did not use the dome light, parking lights, horn honk, etc. options.

The installation instructions are not worth much, maybe nothing. Before I installed this system in my car I "installed" it on my workbench to check operation, function and identify wire leads. I had previously 'reversed engineered' a different system for another vehicle to find relay contacts and coil controls, etc. Fortunately the K20 system uses the same wire colors for the same functions as my first system. This gave me a head start, otherwise it would have taken a long time to determine functions.

5.0 out of 5 stars $24.99 at the time, can't beat that!, May 20, 2009
This review is from: Clarion K20 Remote Keyless Entry (Electronics)
Everything works well and since this isn't a full-out security system, there are definitely fewer wires. I installed this in a night and the range is pretty amazing even though my module and antenna are at the center of the car wiring behind the steering column. I've had no issues with it and the remote for it looks and feels pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good keyless entry for the price, May 10, 2009
This review is from: Clarion K20 Remote Keyless Entry (Electronics)
I just finished installing this in a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. The key is finding the details about your specific vehicle's wiring. I was able to find a site that had step by step directions with pics. The caravan was not the easiest install, some of the wires are difficult to get to, but I was able to finish in about 4hrs. I have installed many stereo systems in the past, but this was my first keyless system install. It is a doable project if you find good info on your car.

The quality of the system seems good. The remotes are solid and the range is very good.

The item is definitely good use for the price if you are electronically incline do it yourself or have qualified individual install it for you. The item practically plug and play for fraction of a price dealer will charge. I give 2 thumbs, 8 fingers, and 12 toes UPPPPP :)

1.0 out of 5 stars Clarion does not support self-installers, October 23, 2009

Like the other reviewer said, the installation manual references a Tech Tip 1041, but you can not access this document unless you are an authorized dealer. Why does Amazon sell this to consumers if we're not supposed to install it? I'll never buy ANYTHING Clarion again. There's no excuse why they can't share information on their product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for experienced user, January 7, 2011

This device works better than expected, however, some experience with automotive electronics would be very helpful during installation. The included instructions are less than enlightening. Range is, my experience, ~50ft. On-board relays work without additional hardware. Careful when installing, if you mess up, there is no warranty. Clarion supposedly only sells to certified installers. Setting up on a workbench, to test everything out is recommended.

Remotes appear to be high quality more like an OEM system and not cheap like others I've seen. No problems with the installation and it works well enough.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not designed for a DIY'ers - But a good product, August 2, 2010

This keyless entry system from Clarion (UNGO) is of very good quality, but be warned -- Clarion doesn't design this product to be a DIY install. It comes with a fairly generic set of instructions and not much more than that. The user guide to program the unit, however, is very informative. It explicitly states that this should be installed by a Clarion Authorized Dealer, and that no warranty is approved for DIY installs (I'm not sure if this is industry wide). The unit itself is of great quality and has many features. The remotes are already paired with the unit and there is no initializing process to go through. I only installed Lock, Unlock and Parking Light flash and it does all of those things perfectly. You can also have trunk pop, horn honk, starter disable and a few more features such as Dome Light which turns on your dome light when you unlock your car, but I found the instructions to be way to generic to even try to install the additional features. This unit also has a Panic feature that honks your horn and flashes your parking lights like most factory security units have, so it does also have a "security" system built in.

The remotes are good quality and have about a 50-60 foot range (at least for mine that is), and don't look cheap or gimmicky. The blue LED that comes with the unit emits a very good looking blue and is very visible at day or night. As soon as you lock your doors with the remote the LED starts to flash every 2 seconds, and it looks like a factory installed security system light. The unit itself is made of tough plastic, and the wires are made with thick copper wiring that is easy to manipulate and solder.

Overall, I am very happy with the unit, but it was a tough install with the generic instructions (took me a good 4-5 hours most of it being trial and error), so I gave it 4 stars. I would choose this unit over the Bulldog units for sale here any day, I installed one in my previous car and it gave me problems from the day I installed it to the day it just suddenly died.

Tip: A lot of the features require relays so have some handy before you attempt to install this unit

Good Luck!
