I decided to mount a new Clarion CD/tuner below decks, out of harms way, and in turn needed/wanted to use this remote control unit above decks. This was reasonably priced and was shipped quickly and came in perfect condition, brand new. It works great, even senses the I.F. handheld remote control. It can control most of the functions of the main unit, and I have it mounted at the pilots station. It is waterproof and takes up very little space. It can also be daisy chained with additional units, if one had a larger boat, or other reason to have multiple remote control stations. Highly recommended. Note, you need to order the connection cable separately, so be sure to order the correct one!

I installed (2) of these remotes on my boat. The remote is great. We can look through all the songs on my ipod and play anything we want from the transom remote. I ordered the Sirius radio interface and will install it next weekend. Well be able to tune to any channel from the remotes. Again...great remote!

I have this unit mounted at the helm just below and slightly right of the wheel. The unit works well, and even accepts the handheld Clarion remote inputs! The only issue I have is it's brightness at night. It is a very bright white light and interferes with my night vision. To counter this, I have a 3"x3" black cloth flap with Velcro above it that drops over it when I need to. My only wish is that it had a dimmer. Perhaps I have overlooked it? I don't believe so....

I purchased this product a few months ago, but just installed in my boat during the off season. It's an upgrade to the remote I had for my CMD4 (I upgraded to CMD6 for iPod interface). It's got a feature that displays iPod songs, which is nice, although the LCD display resolution is a bit dated. Another feature that the old version did not have is a dimming feature. The old one was blinding when operating the boat in the evening, which we occasionally do. This one has an input from the running light power, so that when they are on, the display's brightness is reduced. However, it doesn't dim all that much. Of course, it can be turned off if necessary.Note that if you are upgrading this you may need to also replace the control cable. The old one is not compatible. All in all, the remote looks good on the dash and works as it should.

Delivered faster than imaginable! I have not installed it yet on my boat, along with all the other marine stereo equipment purchased from Amazon. I'm just waiting for Springtime to install it all (can't wait!).
