I bought this unit about 2 years ago. Honestly as a GPS it worked fantastic. Booted up fast and was ready to navigate pretty much as soon as I turned on my car. The reason for the 1 star vote is because of the clarion company itself. There is no way to get in contact with a customer service rep. Calling the number on their website only allows you to find authorized retailers who know nothing of how to troubleshoot the product.

The unit still works fine, but then I moved to Hawaii. I paid over $600 for this thing and there's no Hawaii maps? There's not even a way to import them! If you live in Hawaii or Alaska or are planning on moving there someday keep in mind this unit will be USELESS to you. If you live in mainland US or Canada this item would be good, but it's too bad there's no updates to the GPS. Even before my move the unit was unaware of certain streets. OH, and the unit doesn't do traffic either.

Just FYI, I know the unit was made in 2007, and updated in 2008. but even during that time simple garmin and tom tom gps units were able to do traffic and the such.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

This might operate as a nice unit, but Clarion has not offered an update of the navigation software since 2008. A certified letter to the company president was totally ignored. Buy from another company that guarantees yearly updates.

I love this navi. It works great. It calculates rooutes fast and it automatically recalculate on its own. A must have if u have a compatible clarion tv.
