i bought this for my new car.. it's a good security system but the main remote controller got crazy after a few months don't know why.. other than that it's great..

i was in the car audio biz for bout 7 years.....this was under any cost that i ever had

This model is from 2006 but seems a bit ahead of its time making it a good buy in todays market. For was lucky enough to get this for peanuts and my installer really liked the ease and features with this unit.

I just got this alarm for my old car. I was looking for an inexpensive one. the installation was not as easy as i assumed due to the fact the manuals are not very specific, it took me more than 4 hours to complete the job but once finished it just worked and even better than the factory alarm installed in my brand new Nissan.

Two points to be careful about, a) there is a cable, white one, in Y shape, with a component sealed in side each cable, i assume they are diodes, but since there is no information in the manual nor the web I have no idea what to do with this cable. b) the cable used for the transmitter unit has to be used very carefully, the molex connector breaks easy causing the alarm wont report to the remote. the web page has very little information.

The plan was to simply deture thieves from touching my '88 Civc from further molestation. I looked though all online possibilities. My neighbor advised to look into Amazon and I did. I originally looked for a low cost system with simple options, but then I came accross this S670. I was first discouraged due to the low price, until I went to Clarion's website. I read the product details and then decided to make the purchase. Even thou this was an older unit, it still ranked as a top system...too good to pass up.

I recvd the unit in the original unopened packaging. I reviewed the specs and mapped the install, which I did myself. If you are not technical savey, have a pro due it. I took me a total of 5 hours, taking my time. Wow....what a system! I am going to install the auto door locks this weekend, might as well take advantage of those internal relays.

Trying to find more to install on another car...or two....
