Telephone is not very comfortable to hold. I bought the phone for my visually impaired wife as it has large numbers, however it does not have an audible caller ID feature and therefore that feature is unusable to her. Sound quality is average, however when close to the base there seems to be some interference. When I ordered the phone it came minus the battery. I had to call customer service who were very nice and immediately sent me a battery, however I was inconvenienced by the wait. My old Panasonic was cheaper and much better, though it has small numbers.

I was rooked into buying this phone through an easy installment plan on my phone bill. Let me tell you, CLARITY is a joke. This phone is anything but clear. It has such a bad buzz that it sounds like a half tuned in radio station when you try to use it. The buzz dominates the call, and is there even when no one is on the other end, while dialing, choosing selections on a phone tree, etc. There is no getting rid of the buzz, no matter if you use the usless 'Boost' button, or if you adjust the volume, etc. I really believe the size of the buttons and the Boost feature are gimmicks to sell phones to people who are hard of hearing, have visual problems, or their families. Its all hype. I bought this phone several months back, before I heard of DECT 6 or whatever, and had to look this phone up to make sure it even had it because it receives so much interference. My old phone was very old, one of those less than 3ghz phones, and there was NO INTERFERENCE. I simply got this CLARITY phone because my old one died of old age.
I give this phone a bad rating for ease of use as well. Example, when checking the answering machine remotely with the phone's handset it tells you to press 'delete' to rid the machine of old messages. But which button is 'delete'? Beats me, as there is no 'delete' on the handset or in the list of options accessed by the numbers on the keypad. Also, the redial is in a weird place, you have to hit the volume up/down buttons on the side of the phone and hold your mouth right to get it to appear. The instruction manual is minimally helpful and there are all kinds of features on this phone I have yet to figure out. I am an electronics savvy person - no dummy. I have owned a lot of phones over the past 25 years and this phone is the biggest piece of crap ever. I am sure I could point out more negative features about this phone, but I would just get even madder at myself for purchasing it. Long story short, save your money. If I could rate it a ZERO I would. DO NOT BUY!

I bought this for my uncle who suffers from macular degeneration and is hard of hearing. This phone/answering machine has been a Godsend. Not only can he see the buttons and hear the caller, the design is so simple, he can actually USE it!

I bought this phone for my mother, who has trouble with the many small buttons on newer phones, and the bigger buttons are fine. But it has a mute button in an inconvenient place, that she accidentally touches all the time, and she doesn't know what happpened, and by the time she figures it out, she loses the call. I'm getting increasingly frustrated with getting her electronics that she can use, rather than endlessly frustrating her.

Work great so far. Some of the buttons are not located very well and are easy to push when using the phone or answering the phone which changes the settings.

I couldn't believe how far the range was on this phone, I mean I was talking to my friends outside about 50 feet away from where you hang it up and I couldn't believe that it was still going, this is an amazing phone!

I bought this phone for my 84 year old mother who has trouble hearing. It was easy to set up, and she says she can hear better. It has a "boost" button that she can push if she is having trouble hearing. I was not crazy about the feel of the phone itself - its sort of like a remote control, but she says she likes it. Hopefully, this will help her.

Boost button doesn't work with speakerphone,

I purchased this phone for my mom from a local radioshack. Price was double of what's on Amazon. I did that for a easier return. Turns out I do need the return.
The phone has a boost button, supposedly it should amplify the voice. But I guess it doesn't work for speakerphone, because I can't feel any difference by pressing the button. I didn't try using the boost button with the handset only because my mom always turn on the speakerphone when making calls, otherwise she can't hear anything. Another disappointment is, it used special battery, so you need to pay extra for battery exchange. Going to return it today. |
