About the Author

I've had the great opportunity to travel the world and observe how people treat one another, especially young children in different cultures.  "Clark the Shark" was inspired when I was on a ship wreck diving trip in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.  Being fascinated with sharks, after returning to Miami Beach, Florida, I spoke to several shark specialists at the Marine Biologist Division of the University of Miami.  I learned about the different characteristics of the many types of sharks.   I chose to write a children's book about the "bull shark" to teach and entertain young children about "bullying" and  how to treat others, in hopes it will prevent or minimize any future consequences.  I was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas and currently reside in Las Vegas, Nevada enjoying my retirement from luxury real estate after thirty years.  I recently published "Dalton's Dream", fully illustrated, based on young adults having an appreciation for their ancestors.

Enjoy with each turn of the page.

After reading "Clark The Shark" by Paula Jones to my grandson 2 nights (so about 7 times) the next morning he says their is a "bully" in his class this year. So it opened up an informative conversation about that very important topic from a 5 year olds perspective. I highly recommend this to all children so this topic is talked about and dealt with at home or in the classroom before it becomes a serious problem in his life. Great to hear childs perspective on situations by reading to them.I am going to buy more of these books to share with my friends children/grandchildren
that are starting school or preschool this year.
CLARK THE SHARK AND READERS LEARN GREAT LESSON IN LIFE.

Growing up is at best a challenge. What we experience as children has a lasting effect on our personality through out our lives. Bullying has been exposed as an epidemic in the news lately. Just look at the violence in our school system.
What a joy that Paula Jones has given us an insight into the mind of a Bully; be it a shark or a real person. Even more important is that we can change from being a "bully' into a good person. I hope all who see this will buy it not only for their children, but for themselves as well.

This is a must read for anyone with a child about to start school. It gives some perspective to a problem that has become more common as the electronic age has added annomimity to the mix.

I heard about this book from a friend that said it is being considered for all libraries nationwide since it's about bullying. I ordered it then and there and it's really delightfully written, the message is perfect. The illustrations are magical. Will now give to all of my grand kids as my holiday gift

The issue of bullying needs to be addressed at an early age. This age appropriate book allows you, the parent, to introduce the topic at the child's own personal level. Outstanding illustations and excellent writing. A must have for every family and schools. This is how we can teach the young minds and ensure they are prepared.
