I have very dry lips and have tried soo many lip balms that it's not even funny. I'm not a big fan of the chapstick-y ones, because they don't feel really moisturizing and when your lips are flaked-up or cracked they just sit up on there in visible wax wads that I hate. I haven't been that excited by the Rosebud stuff that folks swear by either, because it seems too thin.

But--this is it--perfect lip balm. First, it comes in a tube so you don't have to worry about what to do with your balmy finger after applying. It's clear (you'd be surprised at how many I've tried that are creamy like lotion and you have to spend forever rubbing them in). It smells good, though I can't place my finger on the scent and it's very faint--you only notice it for the moment you apply it. It doesn't have much of a taste, so you're not compulsively licking at it, but if you accidently do taste it it's not icky. And it works like a dream. I'm sure that I breathe through my mouth while I'm asleep, so I usually wake up to peeling, dried up crone lips no matter what I do before bed, even if I've spent the whole day being a very good girl and hydrating and balming and gently buffing away the flakes with a washcloth. But from the very first time I used this that's over--just a good layer over my lips before bed and I wake up with them still feeling plump and moist. During the day the balm stays on really well without making you aware of it being there with goopiness. It's almost as though it sinks in and moisturizes from within.

I know that excellent lip balm will not solve world hunger or make the lion sleep with the lamb or whatever, but it can make your day more pleasant, and that's something.

Clark's Botanicals lip balm is simply amazing. It is smooth, soothing and makes your lips feel like they are getting a spa treatment. This balm is long-lasting and very moisturizing. The ingredients are natural and top of the line (no parabens). It has a strikingly pleasing scent that will have you wanting to re-apply even though you don't need to yet.

This balm, when applied lightly, can have a matte look for men or, when applied more liberally, creates the most beautiful gloss that brings out your lips' natural color. I try different lipsticks, glosses and lip liners and am reminded time and again that Clark's Botanicals lip balm, worn alone, looks better than anything else and garners lots of compliments. This holds true for both a day in the office and a glam night on the town. Another important feature is that hair does not stick to this gloss.

I promise that this will immediately become your favorite product.

Yes it's expensive, but... Since I've been using this lip balm (about a year) I have had significantly fewer cold sores. Well, actually I've only had one. I don't know what the magic ingredient is, but to me it's worth the money to do what medical science cannot--prevent disgusting and embarassing cold sores without expensive prescription pills. Plus my lips are hydrated. I will buy this stuff as long as it's out there (hopefully forever)! I don't give praise lightly.
