This is my second pair of Clark's Sandals and I am very pleased that these sandals are equally as comfortable as my original pair.

My feet loved them right out of the box! You can take off the heel strap and use them for "slip ons" but for "off road" use the heel strap.

I've purchased Clarks sandals for nearly a decade. About ten years ago, I stumbled upon a Clarks sandal that fit me absolutely perfectly - comfortable right out of the box. They were so comfortable and fit so well, that I could actually jog several miles in them without the slightest difficulty. When they got long in the tooth, and knowing that styles change and companies go out of business, I bought three replacement pairs of that issue of the Clarks Sandal.

Last year when the last of those three pair finally expired, I saw the Hudson advertised at Amazon. Thinking this was the sandal I had grown accustomed to, I purchased two pair.

To my disappointment, they were not quite (almost, but not quite) as well fitting as the previous edition. I think that stems from the fact that Clarks changed the design of the rear strap. On the older style, I could position my foot exactly over the center of the sole of the sandal (using the front straps) and then snug up the rear strap for a perfect fit. With this new design, there's a limit to how far you can pull the rear strap in. To get the same snug feel, I now have to tighten the two front straps, but this causes my foot to come too far back on the sole for optimal comfort.

In another review, I read that a trip to a shoe maker to adjust the strap helped overcome a similar problem. I suppose, if the rear strap were shortened and the ends nicely stitched off, my problem would be solved. But then these sandals would have cost me more than the $79 and change advertised here.

I'll try another brand first (this time at a shoe store). If no other maker comes close, then I'll be back to Clarks.

Lastly, when I purchased the orininal set of three (and the pair I started with), they were still made in England. Not anymore, if that matters...

These are without question the best sandals I have ever owned. All three straps are velcro adjustable, thus ensuring a perfect fit. The leather straps are padded so as to prevent the cutting or chafing of leather against skin. The back strap is removable, should you prefer a quick slip-on. They are instantly comfortable without breaking in. I received them this morning and was just about to order a second pair (since whatever product I like, they quit making) and discovered that they no longer have them available in my size! Rats!

I have been a fan of Clark sandals for years. Wouldn't have anything else but they have changed. The straps on their top line of sandals is too long for small feet. I have a size 7 and the straps won't pull tight--Velcro pad is too short--straps too long. I had to take them to the shoemaker to have the top straps cut down and the excess cut off. Their one-size-fits-all design doesn't fit small. When I pay the high price for the best, I expect the best. They are no longer the best when they don't fit. (note your star rating) The bottom straps hold but won't pull tight and can't be cut down without a major reworking. I just bought a pair of North Face sandals to replace them. They adjust perfectly and cost less than my bill form the shoemaker to fix the Clarks. They are not quite as comfortable, but they fit. Shame on you Clark. If you can't make my size, then don't advertise that you can and take my money. Clark, you have lost a customer. I'll not be taken again.

I bought these for my son's birthday, and unfortunately, the sizing didn't work as he usually wears an 11-1/2 and a 12 was too big and the 11 too small. The sandal has a back strap, which we thought would be great to get the perfect fit, but they just didn't and had to return. Unfortunately, the fullfillment company charges a restocking fee. Amazon was kind enough to give me a credit on my account since it wasn't clear in the description that returns would be penalized. We re-ordered the Ecco sandal from Amazon, and all was well. We realize sandals only come in full sizes, but the Clark just didn't cut it.

A problem with all sandals of this genre is that the Velcro eventually wears out. This one has a tab at the rear that allows you to pull the sandal over your heel without having to undo the main Velcro strap. You can put it on like a loafer or slipper, and the lifetime of the sandal is extended. The overall construction of this shoe is good, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for this style of footwear.

I purchased these for my husband's birthday and they were an immediate hit. They were comfortable from the first wearing and now they're hard to get off his feet! Quick delivery, too.

Very nicely made shoes. They are exactly what I expected. I especially like that the back strap can be removed to make them slip ons. My father would trip with his old shoes, but now he has returned to being a confident walker! A great product.

I Like 'em. I Love 'em. I want more of 'em. Just REALLY HARD finding the right size when a 10 or 10.5 should be common.
