Great looking shoe......BUT......
on March 20, 2014
Let me just say that I am a big Clarks fan. Been wearing them for quite some time. I don't mind investing $100 into a pair of Clarks because they look great, feel great, and last. When these shoes arrived I was very excited. I got the dark brown and they looked even better in person. Exactly what I was looking for. I have narrow feet, and Clarks run about a half size bigger on me so I always order a half size smaller. However, after wearing them for 3 days, the cap part of the shoe where the horizontal stitching goes across the bridge of my feet is just digging in and killing me. A bigger size will be too big. It is the leather cap. The cap is very hard. That, combined with the stitching, wears on you so after a few hours it just digs in and starts to hurt.
I am so disappointed because they look great. To make matters worse, I contacted Clarks customer service, and the gentleman that I spoke to was extremely rude. It was a horrible experience. Long story short, they want me to send them back so they can "take a look at them".....whatever that means. Anyway, I think I may have just thrown $80 into the toilet.
UPDATE: After the horrible conversation on the phone, I sent a follow up email to a representative. They responded by apologizing and have since sent me a hand written card with a 30% off coupon, and have also worked out an option for me to exchange the shoes for a different style shoe that will fit me more comfortably. They are sending me a postage paid box to return the shoes, and a list of options that I would be eligible to exchange for. One of the options is the Clarks Denton Oxford (no cap), which looks very similar to this shoe and should do nicely. Thank you, Clarks!
