The only reason I knocked off one star is because it fits a little big (not sure if its in length or width - a bit of both?), and would have been perfect if available in a 10.5M instead of the 11M that I got. Or maybe it just needs slightly higher sides that come over the top of the foot. Not sure, but these are 10,000 times better than my old cheap shoes that I ended up spending way more on.
FYI, they look amazing with jeans (to dress up a bit) and dress pants (not overly dressy, but contemporary). Versatility is definitely a selling point when it comes to good shoes.
Now the problems. As one of the reviewers has mentioned, they rub and cut into the back of the ankles (that thin thing called posterior interior ligament). I didn't realize this immediately, only after I wore them outdoors a couple of times. The first impression was that they were absolutely comfortable, but then this ankle problem made them unwearable. I had to slit the shoes along the back seam about 1/2 inch, and then the problem was gone and they became those supercomfortable and nearly the only pair of shoes that I wore for the whole summer.
Another suggestion would be to use a different type of leather inside, something nubuck-like, otherwise it's not very pleasant to wear them on bare feet.
As to the sizing, I found it adequate, but my feet are slightly wider than average, so I can see how some people may find them wide. The length was good for American size 8. As they stretched a little, they still didn't slip off my feet, as it happened with other ballet flats - I guess, it's due to that thin ribbon trim along the edge.

Since I am a 9 1/2 narrow, I have had a hard time finding ballet flats that don't fall off my heel, which is especially narrow, yet still comfortable on the widest part of my foot. Read morePublished on January 5, 2011 by JaneE
