About the Author

Doreen Owens Malek is a New Jersey native who sold her fledgling manuscript, GYPSY AUTUMN (1983), to the first editor who read it. Ms. Malek obtained her JD before writing many bestselling category romances and winning the 1985 Romance Writers of America Golden Medallion Award for THE CRYSTAL UNICORN (Harlequin). During the next decade she produced mainstream novels like the World War II adventure CLASH BY NIGHT (1988, Worldwide ), and historicals like THE HIGHWAYMAN(HarperCollins, 1993), THE PANTHER AND THE PEARL(Leisure,1994), and THE LION AND THE LARK (Zebra,1996). After taking time off to raise her daughter, she has written another book on her favorite subject, World War ll. TWO IF BY SEA, concerning the rescue of the Danish Jews during the autumn of 1943, has been in progress for fifteen years. It marks her return to popular fiction. Ms Malek is one of my favorite writers, and I was excited to find a kindle version of this novel. Great characters, fascinating backdrop, and a satisfying ending. And now I have a portable version to read whenever I want!
