Book Description

March 1, 1999 0807738565 978-0807738566
This volume provides pictures of classrooms whose teachers have made education for social justice central to their curriculum. It offers familiar structures used in innovative ways, such as integrating thematic studies of discrimination in US history to help children examine their own prejudices.

This review is from: Class Actions: Teaching for Social Justice in Elementary and Middle School (Practitioner Inquiry Series) (Paperback)
This books is very interesting to me. The members of the group described herein have a very obvious agenda that they are promoting, but I felt that they also wanted to empart some wisdom to the world.

I had totlly mixed feelings about the content. I really liked what the teachers in Part I did, but I felt that Parts II and III had a very anti-White tone.

Interesting, but not beathtaking.
