When I got to see this movie for the first time on the Hallmark channel I was so glad to see the real person interact with the story! I love autobiographies and this hit home! I myself had to be taken out of school at the age of 16yrs to help support my family after my dad had a trucking accident and was off work for 2yrs due to several knee surgeries. This took place back in the 50's so they didn't have all the disability and medical assistance that we have today. Workmans Compinsation at that time only paid $27.00 a week for a family of 12. I was able to get work based only on my ability to learn quickly and my willingness to step out beyound boundries. My schooling was something I wanted to finish and I did in 1994 with diploma, cap and gown! It was great to have my husband, 2 of my 4 children and 3 of my grandchildren to wittness the ceremony! Not knowing at the time within a year after my husband suddenly died so I was faced with supporting myself. Perserverence got me to a far better job then I dreamed! Hired in 3 days with best pay ever!
