This is a great chapter book for beginning readers. Even though the language is simple,LouisSachar makes an interesting and humorous tale that young readers will enjoy. Marvin Redpost and the other kids in Mrs. North's third-grade class are characters that almost any young reader will identify with and enjoy reading about.

They have no time at all to change. Marvin becomes great friends with the President and then he gets on the T.V.! This was a wonderful book and it had wonderful details. A great time passer. 4.0 out of 5 stars Marvin Redpost book review, December 14, 2000
A Kid's Review
Marvin is a third grader in Mrs.North's class. Their school is kind of like our school because they have something like our spirit week. It was hole day at their school. The principal came in to tell Mrs. North that he needed to speak with her. When Mrs. North came back, her mouth dropped and her eyes got bigger every second. The class was quiet. Mrs. North told them some weird news. She said that the President of the United States was going to come to their class. Mrs. North reviewed their classroom guidelines and manners. When the President arrived, they were all embarrassed, especially Mrs. North and Marvin. Mrs. North had holes in her clothes and Marvin was doing a math problem on the blackboard in front of the class and the President. Marvin went blank, then it came back. When he was done the President talked to the class about being a good citizen. We liked this book a lot because we thought it was cool that the President of the United States visited Marvin's class.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute and funny children's book, July 8, 2000
By A Customer
I have read every book in this series except the very latest which I believe is number 7. I started reading them long ago. I find them very amusing, and an easy read. I'm a big Louis Sachar fun. This particular book in the series was about the President coming to visit Marvin's class. And as always Marvin imagined every worse case and best case scenario. I also recommend Harry Potter, Ella Enchanted, and Holes by Louis Sachar, or any other Louis Sachar you can get your hands on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising! by BM from North Boulevard, December 6, 2007
A Kid's Review
The book I read was Marvin Redpost it is written by Louis Sachar. I think this book deserves four stars. I think it gets this many stars because it had great details it would have gotten five stars if it had been longer and it sounded like there could have been more added to this story. This book is about the President of the United States visiting Marvin's class. The problem in this story is that Marvin's classmate steals his question and Marvin was next. I recommend this book to kids that like to read stuff like a kid's journal.
