About the Author
Jim Allen is a fulltime writer and photographer with five published boks on four-wheel drive and two more on the way. After a stint in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he spent 20 years a a professional auto tech before "retiring" to writing. He also spent three years as an off-highway driving instructor for Land Rover.

Great automotive history as well as buying guide.,

On my web site, The Jeep CJ3B Page, I recently said: Don't be misled by the title of this book -- this is more than just a buyer's guide. As you would expect, it's organized into chapters on all the major (and the more obscure) manufacturers, but those chapters also make for interesting reading and a useful historical and pictorial reference. Of course the Jeep chapter is a long one, and unlike most Jeep histories, it includes several CJ-3B photos. For each make of vehicle there is also a well-researched list of models and estimated values for each model in various conditions.

A very good effort to save the Military Vehicles from the hands of Scrap dealers. Though in India, there is no Military Vehicle Conservation Group or Club, I would request Mr. Jim Allen to help me going about forming such a club. I have in my collection only jeeps, but shortly will be getting a WW II WC-52 (Dodge) Your book is not available in this country. Please give us addresses where it can be found. So far 4X4 vehicles are seen in Vintage and Classic Car Rallies in the major cities. My Research and restoration work is focused on WW II Jeeps. I have 23 such jeeps. Would also like to contact jeep lovers in India with your help.
