I have a Landmann Big Sky Stars & Moons Fire Pit. I have the 12.5 inch deep one. The cover fits over it even with the spark cover on the pit. The cover comes down about two thirds of the way down the side of the bowl. Part of this would vary on which bowl depth Fire Pit you buy. But all I need covered is the top to prevent rain from entering so it doesnt bother me if the whole bowl and legs are covered.

UPDATE after one year. It is November 2010 and the cover is still in very good shape. Still happy with the purchase.

Second Update December 2011. The cover is still in great shape. No tears or rips. I keep it on my firepit year round and the cover gets full sun. Nice cover.

I suspect that the package is (strictly speaking) accurate in that "the cover *can* fit over a 44" firepit" -- but our firepit is 40" in diameter, and the cover just barely covers the table-top and does not extend down the legs, as is shown in the picture. Plus the "loops" intended to tie around the legs are simply small semi-circular gaps in the material. In theory, you could pull them over the legs, but that would require lifting each corner of the table to get the loops under the legs. Moreover, there's no way we could pull the cover far down enough to get the loops over more than a leg or two on our 40" diameter firepit. In short, the product works (I don't really feel the legs need protection from the weather anyway), but it's not quite what you might think, based on the description provided by the manufacturer. The material looks solid and it seems reasonably well made, however, so we are not unhappy with the product.

We actually have the "Big Sky Stars & Moons" fire pit that is shown as a display, so I knew I'd have a good fit. I also bought the umbrella cover and charcoal grill cover from the same company and am happy with all three products. Well made, thick fabric, nice color.

This cover states it is for a larger fire pit than I have but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it fits a 30" fire pit quite well. The material and construction are very good.

I had this cover for 1 year and it started to crack and tear. It didnt last very long in Virginia weather.

This cover did not quite last a year before it became brittle and cracked. It was left in harsh outdoor conditions with direct sunlight and snow in the winter, but I would have expected it to last a little longer. Also, it technically covered our 34" fire pit top just fine, but only extended about halfway down the sides and the loops did not reach the feet. It worked just fine to leave the loops off, but was not a great fit for our base which is about 14" tall.

I got this Terrazzo Fire Pit Cover for a Landmann 28335 Big Sky Stars & Moons Fire Pit, Georgia Clay, 12.5-inches deep and it fits.

Pros
1) Great appearance
2) Feels sturdy

Cons
1) It is designed for shallow fire pits. The description should have been forthcoming about this fact.
2) It does not cover the Big Sky down to the legs. On a windy rain water will get inside through the pit's decorative side cut outs.

It doesn't fit over the legs, as indicated, or if it does..I can't figure out how to do it, and there are no drawstrings to pull the elastic tighter, so the cover doesn't blow off. So far it hasnt', but I don't have it that long.

Hi - the cover appeared to be of decent quality and far superior to the thin cheap vinyl cover that came with my firepit. However, this bad boy would not go over the top of my 42" firepit despite the claims that it covers 44" - i do have a large dome on top.
EVEN if it fit, it seems short - i saw other reviews that said it technically can fit over the top but not the legs
to summarize, the quality appeared good, but it is not for a 42 or 44" firepit.

Actually using this as a cover for a small patio table. Looks nice - not at all cheaply made - and has weathered some storms quite well.
