5.0 out of 5 stars This is awesome, May 28, 2009
This review is from: The Kennebec Pontoon Float (Misc.)
I bought this float tube two years ago and its awesome. I'm a big guy, 275lbs, and this thing doesn't even flinch with me in it. It is much bigger than the picture can show and when your in it, its very sturdy no matter what weather. I have never had a problem with the air tubes, they blow up just fine and will last forever if you don't over tighten the caps. They are plastic, but strong, so be gentle.

Probably the hardest part of using this tube is getting used to casting so close to the water. Its different than standing in a boat. After a few tries, you'll have it down.

You'll need a pair of flippers and I recommend buying a $30 pair over the $19 for comfort. You'll move pretty good after a while and will do it subconsciously after a while.

There are several pockets for storage so don't worry about space. I bought a rod holder for $14 online that fits around the outside of the tube, this is a nice touch when your putting on bait or taking a hook out of a fishes mouth. There are velcro straps on the side to hold your pole but you can't use them while your fishing so thats why i recommend the poll holder.

I will be adding a trolling motor to my float tube this year. Amazon sells the DW trolling motor holder for $99 and that way I can go further out in lakes or farther down stream without having to kick my way up. This thing is already a head turner but wait till I add this baby.

I use it in the Adirondacks and easily carry it back to where ever I need to go. I blow mine up before I leave home and tie it to my truck for fast exiting. There are several metal rings on the tube to tie it down, add a fish string, floating cooler etc... or whatever else your mind can imagine.

So anyways, I love this thing and I recommend it to anyone looking to get away from shore fishing. If your a big guy, this is also for you as well.
