This propaganda film is a full-blown attack on the pornography industry. Its main thesis is, pornography corrupts and perverts the mind. The film makes outrageous and ridiculous claims using fear tactics to make its case against pornography varying from rape, to homosexuality, to sexual transmitted diseases, to illegitimate births. As a secondary persuasion method the film uses religion quoting the Bible several times. At the time the film was made in the 1965, pornography was a 2 billion a year industry and growing quite rapidly. Table Of Contents: (1) Perversion for Profit (1965) - This film, produced by Charles Keating's Citizens For Decent Literature Inc. (later known as Citizens for Decency through Law) features narration by announcer / news reporter George Putnam. This propaganda film is filled with wild and outlandish theories. Putnam set the tone of the film early by claiming that 75-90% of all pornography bought ends up in the hands of children. It then goes on to assert that pornography glorifies deviant behavior, telling the audience that viewers of pornography are left believing that "its smart, its thrilling, that it provides kicks to be a homosexual, a sadist, or any other kind of deviant." The film moves on to show a nice montage of nude magazine covers and pictures with surprisingly small bars across genitalia, while Putnam talks about rape, mutilation and how simply looking at pornography perverts the mind. The film ends with an appeal to one's morals and calling for movement against promoters, buyers, sellers, and producers of pornography while Putnam, pleads "we have a constitutional guarantee of protection against obscenity and in this day especially we must seek to deliver ourselves from this twisted distorted evil - 31 Minutes
