In 3049, without warning, Kerensky's heirs set upon the Inner Sphere in a savage series of battles known collectively as the Invasion. On Tukayyid the Com Guards brought the seemingly unstoppable Clan war machine to a halt. The Invasion ended as suddenly as it had begun, and left in its place an uneasy peace. Both sides now had an opportunity to reassess their opponent's strengths and weaknesses and respond. By 3055, the first of a new breed of BattleMechs rolled off the assembly lines of the Inner Sphere, machines designed specifically to counter the technologically advanced weapons used by the Clans. Only time will tell if these new designs will be enough to turn the tide when battle is joined once again. This book is a good addition to the Battletech Universe. Although it lacks the shear quantity of 3050 it makes up for it in how it describes each mech's Overview, Capabilites, and Deployment, something that FASA forgot about in 3050. It is one of my favorites (besides 3025).

Much thinner than its 3050 brother, the 3055 Technical Readout gives a good look at The Inner Sphere's response to new clan technology. Some of the sections were confusing, like the Inner sphere refits, which are actually Clan refits of mechs still in use by the inner sphere. While most of the `mechs are average in overall quality, there are a few exceptional models that are worth looking over. Namely the Clans Behemoth(Stone Rhino), their refits, and the IS's Grand Titan, Bezerker, Raksasha, and a few others. On the whole, though, I have to say that this Readout was somewhat lacking in both quantity and quality and probably would better serve as an update or added in to 3050 as a revised edition. The Aerospace and Additional Omnimech sections are almost non-existant or inconsequencial (note the tacky fighter called the vandal on the first page in the section). Definately not one of FASA's shining moments here.

Interesting, but don't waste your mony if you fight clan.,

The pictures in TR:3055 sre horible. There is only a few good IS mechs'. All the clan desighns are bad. If you fight clan or IS, don't buy it.
