Classic Black Ball Gown Made to Fit the Barbie Doll

This is one of two Barbie dresses I purchased for a gift through this seller.
While the other dress received a bad review for construction, this dress gets 5 stars.

The gown arrived several days before it was expected, which is a big plus.

It arrived in a sealed, professional-weight protective plastic wrapper. That is a big plus for me because it shows somebody cares about my purchase.

After delivery, as I first examined my purchase, my first thought was that it reminded me of my own wedding gown.This is not cheap fabric, and if you're a tactile person, you'll probably agree that it "feels real." The lace layer is quality fabric with a luminescent appearance and fine detail, although the emboidery is machine-stitched, not hand-stitched. The underlayer is substantial fabric that holds it shape. The applique on the bodice is attached by a line of machine stitching. The hemline is turned and machine stitched. The velcro fastener is securely attached without gap or overlap. The bodice fits perfectly, and the gown length is neither too long nor too short. (Sometimes a doll gown will be too short, revealing her feet). My granddaughter's little hands were able to dress her doll in this gown without any problem.

One complaint I had with the other gown was that their were way to many long, hanging threads, and the gathered skirt was not attached to the bodice well. Because I was so disapointed in the first gown, I scrutinized this one for similar problems. However, I found that the threads from unravelling seams were minimal and short. The skirt was attached to the bodice as if the seamstress knew how to use a sewing machine (unlike the other gown purchased. Seams were straight.

The long gloves were a hit with the granddaughter. Barbie ended up wearing them all afternoon with every outfit, including a nurse outfit.

I compared this gown's overall presentation with two different gowns I found on shelves at stores, and this is by far the prettiest both in fabric and design. Plus. the price is right.

One suggestion I have for this seller is to include a small picture of a doll in the dress when it's delivered. We didn't know how to put the veil on (as you can see from my picture). However, either way Barbie wears the veil, it's still pretty.

This gown for Barbie is a nice investment. We (both my granddaughter and I) are pleased!

Great velcro in the back - better quality and "classier" than Barbie clothes.

My granddauther was in a wedding this spring and afterward all of her Barbies were in "weddings." But, alas, there were no wedding dresses. I found this and ordered it. The shipping was speedy, and the dress is just beautiful. She was also excited to have the gloves and veil. What a great surprise from Grammie! I heard it went to "show and tell" at school the following day.

This is a gorgeous dress. My niece was speechless when she saw it. The flowers on the skirt are so vibrant and the black makes it pop. These dresses are so well made that they can stand up by itself. My daughter and two nieces are having a "fashion show" with these. So sweet and lovely, better than some of the inappropriate Barbie styles. I want them all!

This is a very pretty dress and comes with a boa. My daughter loves getting her barbie very "fancy". The dress is sparkly and seems very durable so far.

I would recommend this to any barbie fan.
