I have zero coat closet space and only a small area available for a coat rack, and that area is visible from my living room so I really wanted something that looked nice in addition to being able to handle a lot of coats and miscellany. My boyfriend and I liked the looks of this one the best after poring through Amazon and a couple other sites. The coat rack arrived very quickly, was in perfect condition (no damage from shipping or manufacture), and was super easy to put together. It looks wonderful--a bit Victorian, a bit modern, and classic enough to go with most decors I'd think. We keep 4-5 coats on it usually, sometimes just on one side through chance, and it never tilts. It can hold easily a dozen or more. It's held up well through a couple of parties so far. It did seem to lean when we first assembled it, but we fooled around with tightening the base further and that seemed to fix it. It's heavy-duty but light enough to move easily, too. Great coat rack!

I am lazy enough to not write reviews.
This is my first ever review of any product...I was forced to write this for safety sake...safety of people with kids at least.

I received the coat rack and assembled it exactly as per the instructions that came in the box.
The rack had very wobbly legs. Infact, one of the four legs was suspended in the air.
The rack swung back and forth when standing.
Also, the pole that holds the coat hangers had a big lean and was swinging from the umbrella holder base.
It leaned and tumbled onto the floor as soon as I hung the first jacket!
Another time, it almost fell on my kid.

I contacted the seller who graciously sent me another rack of the same brand.
Guess what, exact same problem in the second rack as well!!

So there seems to a manufacturing defect with this model, at least during the time I bought...just before Christmas 2010.

I suggest stay away from this rack...it can do some serious damage when it falls, and fall it will.

I recieved the hat and coat rack in good time and in good order, it was fairly easy to put together however the it is not straight and wobbles. I would send it back but there is no way I can get it back in the box it came from so we will live with it.
