5.0 out of 5 stars I love the look and feel of these briefs
Ah, it's the age-old question - boxers or briefs? Well, for me, it's definitely briefs. I love the look of a man in tidy whities, and these classic Y-fronts are just the ticket. I love the look and feel of these briefs, and can't recommend them enough.

2.0 out of 5 stars The straight dope on Jockeys
It's surprising that there really is a difference between the various well-known brands of men's briefs. I've been looking around to replace my aging drawer-full, and wrote a review of my recent experience with Hanes (in brief, they're inexpensive and show it).

2.0 out of 5 stars The straight dope on Jockeys, February 12, 2008
This review is from: Classic Brief - 6 pack value! (Apparel)
It's surprising that there really is a difference between the various well-known brands of men's briefs. I've been looking around to replace my aging drawer-full, and wrote a review of my recent experience with Hanes (in brief, they're inexpensive and show it).

I've never liked Jockeys, for one reason: they advertise their "Exclusive Y-front fly design," and I've consistently had difficulty getting Mr. Johnson through the fly and into use. Sure, we can giggle about it, but it's no fun having to stand there, reach through the fly, grab Ol' Willie, and pull him through an awkwardly-designed fly every time you've got business to do. It's more of a hassle than it might sound, and underwear shouldn't be something you have to deal with. And putting the trouser snake back in is even more difficult--it takes two hands!

Let me be clear here: The fly opening is REALLY tight, and no matter what you do, it's REALLY difficult to go through it. You may say, "But they must sell a million of them every year, year after year. Everybody's heard of Jockey shorts. This guy must be exaggerating." Yes, yes, I know. And you'll see that what I say is true. You have been warned.

I just bought some more to find out whether they still make them this way, and they do. I have no idea why Jockey not only makes them this way, but brags about it. I guess there are some guys that worry that the fly is too loose, and if you're one of them, you don't have to worry about it with Jockeys--everything is safe and secure--too secure for my liking. They're reasonably priced, and otherwise well made--definitely better constructed than Hanes, for example. But I won't buy them again--too much trouble.

1.0 out of 5 stars I give up on Jockey, August 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
At 66 years old, I have used Jockey Classic Brief for about 30 years. They have continued to slowly decrease in quality during that time. ((insert rant about the decrease in quality of Levi's jeans over the last 40 years)) The material of Jockey briefs has become paper thin, elastic around the legs is almost non-existent, the waistband elastic has become narrow, cheap, and wrinkles the first time it is washed. As a loyal Jockey customer I bought four packs of four of these, and I donated them to Goodwill after I bought four pair of Dockers mid-rise briefs to try. The Dockers have no front "slot" which I find is not missed. The Dockers do have a nice "pocket" in the front which makes them very comfortable (this difference in comfort really surprised me). The waist band is wide and appears very sturdy. The leg elastic appears to be much better quality. After wearing the Dockers for a few days, I ordered another 12 pair yesterday from Amazon. Sorry Jockey, but I surrender, you have lowered your quality to the point that you have lost a very loyal customer. That loss of elastic in the legs is important to me since I have slender legs (6 ft 165 lb)and the equipment did not stay inside the brief, maybe not important to other more robust individuals. The pouch for the "jewels" in the Dockers is wonderful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money, June 17, 2010

The main problem is that the elastic does not go completely around the leg opening, making it very uncomfortable because the leg opening without the elastic stretches as a result any physical activity. Definitely would avoid this product.

So comfortable and durable. Great material and smooth. Try to get the exact size you usually wear. I usually wear them with cotton trousers (e.g. suits)

I have always like the plain, white traditional Jockey briefs. The last time I tried to buy them at Macy's I couldn't find them. So I bought some of the colored Bikini style. When I needed more I went on line and found the ones I liked at a good price on Amazon.com. They arrived quickly and are just what I wanted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome return to a classic, July 15, 2011

I have been wearing boxers for a long time and I just got tired of the bulky fit. I found some old Jockey's in my drawer and put them on. So comfortable that I bought a new package at a Macy's sale. They come up to the natural waist and the pouch created by the "Y" cradles comfortably without the squeeze of other brief brands. The cotton is so soft I can't bring myself to wear my old boxers anymore. The gentle support keeps me from squirming around for comfort ( a la boxer); they are much cooler in hot weather. I am getting rid of the boxers, now when I buy the next six pack do I stay with the classic white or add some sharp black? Oh, a little bit of bleach in the wash keeps the white sparkling clean in your drawer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits correctly, April 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered these brief as they are the only ones that fit my husband correctly. We have tried other brands that he just isn't comfortable in. The cost was about the same as for the other brands he can't wear. We thought the pricing was very reasonable. We will stick with these from now on.
