An hour-long collection of Disney cartoons. The Art of Skiing, 1941, Goofy demonstrates "how to ski," to off-stage narration. He does all jumps, turns, etc. backward. How To Fish, 1942, Goofy demonstrates "how to fish," to off-stage narration. He has trouble casting and fly fishing; finally he loses the motor and the boat drags him to shore. How To Swim, 1942, Goofy demonstrates "how to swim," to off-stage narration. He has trouble undressing in small locker room; shows diving and swimming techniques - underwater gags. Baggage Buster, 1941, Baggageman Goofy has trouble with a magician's trunk. Gags with palm tree and skeleton. Top hat spills pigeons and rabbits; cloth waved brings bull, kangaroo, lion, elephant. Goofy gets them all back in trunk; puts it on train, but finds them still at station. How to Dance, 1953, A short history of the dance, followed by Goof trying to learn to dance. He tries first with a dummy, then attends a real dancing school. He gets kicked out, but goes to a nearby casino where he tries jazz - winds up dancing on his head. We go back to primitive man to observe the progress made in the art of dancing. Lion Down, 1951, Goofy in his penthouse yard decides to rest in hammock, and hooks one end to a tree. Upon finding nothing to fasten the other end to, he goes to the forest, gets a tree and brings it back to his apartment, not realizing he has dislodged a lion from the tree. The lion follows Goofy to the apartment and decides he wants the hammock. Gags with Goofy, lion and hammock follow; Goofy ultimately wins out. The Big Wash, 1948, At circus grounds Goofy tries to give Dolores the elephant a bath. Dolores outwits Goofy by disguising as a clown, and turns water on Goof. Soap causes her to sneeze, force blowing Goofy into mud puddle. Hold That Pose, 1950, Goofy buys photo equipment for his hobby. He approaches a bear to take its picture, but there's a delayed explosion of flash powder. Chase follows, ending with bear in Goof's apartment admiring the proofs. Father's Day Off, 1953, Goofy takes over the household chores while his wife goes out. He gets completely confuse and by the time Mrs. Goof returns the house is in shambles. His last mistake has been to leave the iron on, so the firemen arrive at the same time as the wife.

4.0 out of 5 stars THESE ARE ALL ON THE COMPLETE GOOFY SET January 11, 2005
Here's a quandry. I would definitely say you should buy the Disney Treasures Complte Goofy set since all of the shorts on this DVD are in the Treasures set. You get EVERY Goofy short in that Treasures Set. Trouble is it's out of print now and only available in the seconday market. If you can get that at a resonable price then that is your best bet.

This is a very good DVD however containing 9 Goofy shorts made in the 1940's and 1950's. it includes several of Goofy's "how to" series where Goofy takes part in the demonstration and a narrrator does the voice over. These include: How to Dance, How to Swim, how to Fish, and The Art of Skiing. These are all quite funny.

It's worth the $12 or so but any Goofy fan should try and find the Complete Goofy set if possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars adorable and funny February 23, 2005
Goofy is hilarious. when I used to to watch him alot as a kid on Disney I couldn't help but laugh at his type of antics for humor. it was so stupid it was funny. he really touches kids too . even in his short cartoons. I would recommend everyone give Goofy a chance. young or old. you're never too young or too old for cartoons. enjoy what you will

When I got this on Dvd I was so happy. Walt Disney and others created some amazing toon characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent !! May 27, 2008
My kids absolutely LOVE this DVD! All of the short films keep their attention (they are 3 & 2) much better than a full length movie does. They laugh at Goofy and it's so funny to watch them enjoy a Disney character that I can remember watching when I was growing up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Goofy Movies March 17, 2009
I bought this DVD for my two year old twin girls who absolutely love Disney charachters. I was amazed at how much I liked the movies myself as well. It brought me back to my early childhood when my brother and I watched all of these same types of movies.

This Goofy DVD has some real great classics as well as a couple of not so well known cartoons; all of which are fun and entertaining for children of all ages. The sound quality and picture quality are great.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good but short collection June 9, 2008

Every volume in this series has only a small number of cartoons on each disc (about 9 each). They are excellent cartoons, but the small number of cartoons leaves you wanting for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reminence of being a kid again May 13, 2014

My children love the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters and I wanted them to have a glimpse of the Mickey Mouse cartoons I grew up on. The laughter holds up to my children's generation. They enjoy watching these cartoons (almost as much as I do).

4.0 out of 5 stars All the favorites I expected, and some filler I'm okay with.
The biggies I wanted were the "how tos" like 'The Art of Skiing', 'How to Fish', 'How to Dance', etc. They were as funny as I expected and worth the cost of the DVD. Read more
