This is an excellent travel case, hard on the outside for protection, straps the hard drive inside securely in one half, and has a net for the hard drive cables in the other half. It is much better than the Case Logic PHDC-1 Small EVA External Hard Drive Case (Blue) I first tried because Case Logic's website is very erroneous in what the inside dimensions of that device are and, because of that, our Acomdata Tango USB 2.0/eSATA 2.5-Inch SATA Hard Drive Enclosure TNGXXXUSE-BLU (Blue) would not fit (Amazon.com kindly refunded the Case Logic product). The American Covers' website is very accurate in size and therefore this case will fit the Acomdata Tango USB 2.0/eSATA 2.5-Inch SATA Hard Drive Enclosure TNGXXXUSE-BLU (Blue) rather than just a Western Digital Passport sized drive. Very happy with it.

I was looking for a good case that fit a Seagate Expansion 1 TB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive ST910004EXA101-RK and it works perfectly.

I got this for my Garmin nuvi 255W. It's the perfect size without being to big to fit in the glove box or console compartment. It fits the unit and the car charger with room left over for a USB cable and SD cards. The straps inside hold it tight so there's no rattling around. I really like the hard sides, too, in case it gets dropped. If you're looking for a good quality and stylish case, this is the one for you.

I was looking for a case for newly purchased Samsung Galaxy 5.0 mp3 player as it is approximately 5.5 inches high and hard to find something to fit fairly well. Since this player is pretty new, it appears there are not many case options for it yet. The case is a bit too large in width by approximately 1/4". I corrected that easily with a piece of felt, rolled one end a bit, placed it on the side of player between edge of case and player and laid the remainder of felt over the top of the player to protect the screen as well. I also cut a piece of memory foam to fit to provide even more protection.

The case is well made, sturdy, hard-shell cloth covered exterior and an attractive dusky blue. My computer screen shows it looking a bit on the turquoise side, which it is not. The left side of the case, when opened, has three mesh compartments. It is perfect for the galaxy to store two extra miniSD cards and the usb wire. The right side of the cover has large elastic bands that appear to perhaps not be as durable as I see warping on edges already, but it is too early to tell. The zipper appears to be very durable.

For what this case was designed for, I am sure it is a perfect GPS case. For the Samsung Galaxy 5.0 mp3 player that it was not designed for... it is pretty close to being perfect! I am very pleased!

After buying a hard drive case here on amazon that specifically stated it was for the 1.5TB seagate, I found that it didn't fit. This one does fit perfectly. I highly recommend it! It has straps to keep the hard drive secure and also a net for the cord. Just so someone else doesn't make the same mistake.

Well, it is secure and holds the item w/o it moving around inside. It also has a little cargo area great for usb cables and can hold a thumb drive or two as well. Works just fine.

Got this for my Garmin nüvi 2460LMT 5-Inch. It is perfect to protect it, not too much weight.
Cons: It is not deep enough to hold the cord, so I am not sure why they have the second side with elastic; this could be a one-sided case. If you need something to include the car charging cord, this won't hold both items. When packing it takes up more room than it should because it is 2-sided.

I don't know if it's possible to go wrong with what is just a case. It works just fine for my hard drives, but I don't take them out with me; I just like having them protected, even at home.

I really like the way that the case looks.

Bought this, as recommended by Amazon, for portable hard drive. Fits perfectly and had inside pockets for USB cord and little notes. Good deal.

I bought this for my Garmin Nuvi 855 GPS. It fit the GPS fine. But ... I had planned for the device to be stored in a "GM-had-space-left-over-so-they-put-a-door-on-it-and-gave-it-a-fancy-name" compartment in my truck. The case was a bit too large, so I changed plans and use it for my portable hard drive & firewire cable. They don't go in the spiffy GM compartment. They get dumped into the console junk bucket.

The case is by no means rock solid, it feels like heavy, molded cardboard lined fabric. You can tap your fingers on it, but don't punch it. I wouldn't trust if for drop protection, either. But, look at the price. Now look at a hard shell plastic case. Big difference!
When it is zipped up, it is fairly strong. I have accidentally placed a large book on it & it didn't squish. Were it un-zipped, it would have caved.

I've had it a long time now and it has held up very, very well. Usually, on anything I get, the zipper fails. This one still works and has a big grabber thing-a-ma-bob. The elastic that holds the device is still springy & holds snugly.

There's a handy mesh pocket for the cable or any other accessory. But, if you use it for a GPS, I'd think about turning the screen toward the outside of the pocket, or what is in the opposite pocket could scratch it.

All together, it is a good case for the price. I'd buy another one.
