I have been a huge fan of Wynonna's since the early days of The Judd's. I have every single album she has put out with The Judd's and Solo efforts. I have seen her live 10 times. She never fails to impress me. This woman can sing ANY genre of music and succeed in doing so. On her first solo Christmas album, Wynonna sings some of the songs she did on her X-mas album with her mom. This time she has an Orchestra to back her powerful vocals. The Chrismas Song, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, White Christmas all sound like the classic traditional versions. Her voice with the Orchestra...WOW! On Santa Claus is Coming to town...I like the little bells in the background and the children singing. Ave Maria, Emmanuel and It's the Messiah are all beautiful songs. Not very many people could pull off Ave Maria. Wynonna does effortlessly!!! What more can I say....This is just a beautiful traditional christmas album that will be a staple in my CD player during the Holiday Season for years to come.

If you're looking for the perfect CD for classy, tratitional Christmas music, this is it. This has everything from the playful Santa Claus is Coming To Town, with Wynonna's children singing with her, to the beautiful Ave Maria. You will hear the range in Wynonna's voice from soft and sweet to strong and powerful. If you love Christmas and tradition, Wynonna has done herself proud! I own this CD and have bought extras for Christmas gifts. I love it!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Wy continues to evolve into the consummate singer in this beautifully produced album of traditional Christmas songs. From start to finish, the album reflects Wy's continual growth in vocal range and quality. In this fine collection, she leaves the realm of Country far behind, and transitions into a singer who defies boundaries by leaping over them and producing a better product with each release. Wy's work in the realm of symphonic music over the last two years has extended her vocal finnesse to become that once-in-a-generation singer that can sing anything they please and do it extremely well. There are no miscues on this album. It is fun to listen to; recorded in Wy's own style, she often adds inflections or emphasizes an aspect of a lyric that makes a song new again, even if you've heard it before. Ave Maria in it's native tongue is stunning, and Emmanuel moved me to tears. If you buy just one album this Christmas make it this one... You will be thrilled!

As the other person said, I would give it 10 stars if I could. This is definately THE BEST christmas album of the year. It really does showcase Wynonna's spectacular voice. My personal favorites are Ave Maria, Emmanuel, Oh Holy Night, and Silent Night.

Is there ANYTHING Wynonna can't sing? From Country to R&B to Pop To Rock and here she tackles the holidays in a CLASSIC style. You don't have to be a "COUNTRY" Fan to love and appericate Wynonna, all you have to do is love music and let your ears do the rest.

I would rate this with 10 stars if I could. It is so inspiring, and brings back the sounds of the past. Wynonna has the voice of an angel and you can tell every sound she makes comes from the heart. give it as gifts, buy one for the car and the house but buy it, you will not be diappointed and you will be having an early christmas.

Right outta the cd holder and into the cd player...Wynonna started with a wonderful song and the cd just continued with a great flow...and rythm...the song selections were great....her voice is just magical!

The year this album came out I gave scads of them as gifts. I was thrilled to share this treasure with family and friends. I absolutely love everything about this album. As new friends come into my life, I continue to buy and share my Christmas favorite. It is clear, beautifully done, and timeless. I have yet to give it to anyone who doesn't end up loving it as much as I do. I would love to see Wyonna do A Classic Christmas II.

Wynnona's first solo Christmas collection is a pleasant addition to your holiday collection. Wynnona's voice is strong and controlled with supportive musical arrangements.
The highlights: a haunting O COME O COME EMMANUEL and an emotional IT'S THE MESSIAH showcase her vocal excellence.

Ok, upfront I'm going to admit that I know someone who worked on the album. Hearing how kind Wynonna was during the production leaves me slightly biased in the album's favor. However, the music really does stand on it's own. It's traditional Christmas music with a sort of Perry Como, Nat King Cole, "classic" sound. I like that. If you're looking for something Country, this is not the album. This is Wynonna roasting chestnuts on open fire. The first half is secular. The second half is religious. The Ave Maria is one of my favourites. Bonus points for going for the slightly more difficult prounouciations.
