This is an EXCELLENT Christmas CD. All of the songs are perfectly done with no frills...Just like you would expect GS to sing them. HOWEVER, it appears that this CD is EXCACTLY the same as the one released exclusively for Hallmark (you know, buy 3 cards and get this item for $5). Even the photos apparently were taken at the same time. GS is wearing the same outfit. I got my CD through the Hallmark promotion and it is entitled "Fresh Cut Christmas". So, the bottom line is BUYER BEWARE. If you got the Hallmark CD, don't bother getting this one. It is the SAME thing! BUT, if you didn't get it through Hallmark, get it now and enjoy Christmas music beautifully done.

George Strait is the King of country music, now he is the king of country Christmas. From his first two Christmas albums to this one, he has done a true country album with his first one, and he did classic albums with his second release and this cd with traditional Christmas songs. Any Strait fan will love these songs sung by their favorite artist and bring back memories of all of our Christmas' past and the excitement of those to come.

Since I'm a huge and loyal George Strait fan I buy anything he does music or other stuff. This is a really nice Christmas CD to add to any ones music library if you like country music. Each song has the George Strait twist on it. If you like true country Christmas songs this CD is for you. There isn't any song the Cd that I can single out as my favorite because they all are outstanding just like George. The King of Country Music does it again.

On "Classic Christmas", Strait's 3rd Christmas effort, I get the impression that George just didn't try too hard when putting this CD together for Hallmark as "Fresh Cut Christmas". All of the numbers are pleasant and George swings them in his usual style but I really think George could have done better by his fans: clocking in less than 26 minutes "Classic Christmas" seems a bit like highway robbery. George says he had a hard time narrowing the track selection down to 10, so I wonder why he felt the need to do so especially with most of the songs running less than three minutes. Also with the short running times you don't have much opportunity for interesting arrangements or solos from the supporting musicians: these are brief, no frills, "strait"-forward renditions with NO surprises.

Still, when it comes to Christmas music, I guess I'd rather 25 minutes of George Strait than 80 minutes of Transiberian Orchestra. Strait, as always, is in great voice and makes it all sound effortless so what is here sounds great. But if you want a George Strait Christmas CD I recommend starting with 1999's Merry Christmas Wherever You Are or 1986's Merry Christmas Strait to You both of which are available at budget price and provide more music for your $. (If you've already got those two you might as well throw this one on the CD changer too.)

(NOTE: Also available: Christmas Collection: 20th Century Masters oddly contains ALL 10 tracks from the 1999 effort and throws on 2 tracks from the '86 release. But I'd pass on "Collection" and, for a little extra money, get the other two.)

I love any songs sung by George. And I love Christmas Music so you combine the two and you get Classic George. He's awesome as always.

I love George Strait! How could his most recent Christmas album be anything but great! I love Christmas and he sings some of my very favorites!

This is a wonderful classic Christmas CD by George Strait. If you are looking for those old favorites like "Silent Night, Oh Christmas Tree, Jingle Bells, etc..." This is the CD for you. I could not be happier with this George Strait Christmas Album.

As always, George Strait, is as good as it gets. A gift for my mom who is an avid GS fan and she loves it!

When I tried to load this CD to my Zune account it downloaded an old GS Christmas CD from 2003. But, when you play it from the CD drive it plays the 2008 songs. My wife downloaded the CD to her iPod, and it indicated there were two separate CD's on this one; the old 2003 songs and the new 2008 songs. Nice that iPod noticed two, but it is worthless to me and my Zune account since I purchased songs that I cannot listen to. Never has happened before.

But, the songs are great. So, if you are buying for your CD player I highly recommend it, but if you are buying and expecting to download to your Zune...do not buy it as a CD, download the MP3 songs directly.
