3.0 out of 5 stars NOT AN OFFICIALLY LICENSED PRODUCT! May 7, 2011
By Justin

I bought this Classic Controller Pro under the impression that it was an actual Nintendo product. I was wrong. The first thing I noticed upon opening the plain, unlabeled box was that it was lacking the "Wii" logo above the three center buttons. Upon further inspection, I noticed the "Nintendo" logo and model number were missing from the back, and part of the label on the "x" button was either misprinted, or rubbed off.

Not wanting to split hairs, I decided to try it out before I decided to return it. I hooked it up and turned on my Wii, and the first thing I noticed was the pointer floating across the screen, even though I was not touching a joystick. I fiddled with it a little, but couldn't get it to stop, so I restarted the system, figuring I may have had a stick off-center when it was activated. The second time it seemed to work fine. I navigated the menus with the left stick, confirmed and denied selections with the "a" and "b" buttons, and finally booted up GoldenEye 007 to try it out in action. All of the buttons and both sticks worked, as well as the directional pad (or at least the one direction I had to use during gameplay). I have noticed through side-by-side comparisons with an official Nintendo Classic Controller Pro that the sticks on the unofficial model are a little stiffer, and the buttons are not housed as sturdily. The "ZL" and "ZR" shoulder buttons in particular have a noticeable wiggle to them.

I returned this controller, and replaced it with the official Nintendo Wii Classic Controller Pro - White

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh May 16, 2011

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
For 9$ this controller isn't terrible. Honestly though, I wish I hadn't bought it. If you are planning on using this for Virtual Console games, just skip it completely. The d-pad is totally slippery and I died (on Kirby's Adventure! Yeah!) like 5 times because my finger kept slipping off and pushing the wrong direction. The a, b, x, and y buttons aren't too bad but sometimes can be unresponsive. Save yourself some money in the long run and a buy an official Nintendo classic controller pro. The d-pad is so much better, as is everything else. Again, this controller isn't bad for the cost, and if you aren't going to be using it much I would recommend it. But for people who want something that is going to last a long time and play a lot of VC games with, get the Nintendo Classic Controller Pro.

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
the controller made playing black ops online easier... but! the joysticks are very jumpy and squeaked all the time. even after a lot of use. then the buttons began to stick and sometimes the buttons didn't even work! overall, i wouldn't buy this cheap one. spend the 20 bucks to get the wii one. not this off brand one. you'll be happier in the end

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT THE OFFICIAL NINTENDO CONTROLLER! September 8, 2011

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I didn't realize that this wasn't the official controller by Nintendo until after I ordered it. It was $10 cheaper than the normal one so I thought I was getting a deal. But I waited until I got it today to give it a spin.

It's alright, but it isn't as good as the normal controller. The Wii logo is missing of course, and some of the buttons aren't as comfortable like they are on the normal one. It is just an attempt at a look-a-like, and I am surprised that Nintendo hasn't realized this auction yet and ended it (only because it probably violates some copyright rules).

I ordered a normal classic controller pro and am returning this one soon.

Does it's job. Next time i think I might prefer the wireless option. Plus it needs to be broken it because at first it can be very stiff.

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't last December 4, 2013

This controller is very nice to use. It's comfortable to hold and the button are smooth to push. However, with-in 2 months it's begun to malfunction. I fear that in another month or so it will be unusable.

2.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money September 9, 2012

I should have known it was too good to be true. When I got it it was very cheap, so I thought it was worth it, brand new, $6.00, free shipping. I was wrong, when I played it, it responded slowly, so when I pressed a button it would respond 1 second later. I then realized it may not have been licensed by Nintendo because it didn't have the wii logo on it. So, its best to just buy it at gamestop full price.
