4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Gift for a Coke Collector, January 17, 2002
This review is from: Classic Cooking With Coca-Cola (Paperback)
I bought this as a gift for my best friend who collects all things Coca-Cola. However, while it was in my possession, I did get a chance to reveiew some of the recipies. They cover a wide range and use ingredients I'd forgotten about (remember Fanta?) or wished I had (powdered milk and vegetables that I didn't even know came in canned form)!!! But even if you never wanted to learn how to make Coke Glazed Ham or learn about any of the other things Coke can do: Check it out for the novelty--Coke is an evolving relic of Amer ican culture and history and the recipes were all created by consumers--not the company itself!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun recipes to try, August 29, 2009

I had seen this book years ago and have tried to find it but apparently it isn't printed anymore. I've had the chocolate cake and wanted to make it at home so I was delighted to find the book on-line. I find it fun to experiment with ingredients that are different and was pleased with the ones I've tried so far. There are good hints on which of the products work best, i.e., regular Coke products and sugar-free varieties and whether to use Coke, Sprite or orange juice in the recipe. The ingredients are ones you would have on hand so the recipes are generally fast and easy. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to try new recipes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, unusual recipes, January 10, 2007
This review is from: Classic Cooking With Coca-Cola (Paperback)
One of the best cookbooks I have ever bought, I have now purchased a few of them as gifts. A particularly good recipe is for Holiday Bread and Butter pudding- my family would eat it every night given the chance!
Some very simple ideas as well as some slightly more complicated ones.
The book would probably benefit from having pictures to go with the recipes but with so many tasty or unusual sounding ideas you'll be keen to try them out anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars your secret cooking formula - everyone will want your recipes, December 12, 2007
This review is from: Classic Cooking With Coca-Cola (Paperback)
A whole new world of cooking possibilities! Coq au Coke, Chocolate Coke Cake, microwave French Onion Soup, even salad dressings made with Coke - wherever you need vegetable extracts and sugar as ingredients, try Coke. I made an entire Thanksgiving dinner where every dish had Coke in it after reading this book.
There are no photos of the dishes in this book and the layout is 1970's American, but that is what makes it all the more endearing. I have bought 4 copies of this book as I keep giving away my copy to dinner guests who beg me for it.
Some of the ingredients are not available in Europe and the recipes are all in American measures, but with a little imagination you can improvise around those. It also has recipes with Sprite, Minute Maid and other Coca-Cola Company products - an amusing read, even if you don't cook.

4.0 out of 5 stars a funny cook book..., February 15, 2007
This review is from: Classic Cooking With Coca-Cola (Paperback)
We were given this book as a gift and when I looked at the title I had to laugh! Who did ever come up with this idea? The answer is inside- Soft Drinks have a long history of being used as cooking ingredients. Sprite, Fanta and Root Beer have all been used successfully.

For a few months I have been experimenting with using them in my own cooking- mostly without too much bang for the buck! Sugar or honey works almost as well and is much cheaper... But success comes to all who don't give up! I actually have tried coke on my secret BBQ ribs recipe and my customers swear by the fact that something tastes familiar about them...

A unique book in your cookbook collection!

FYI: The reviewer who wrote the review about the muffin and bread cook book clearly wrote a review for the wrong product because this is a cook book for Coca Cola products!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book., July 27, 1997
By A Customer
The book Muffins and Breads by Patricia A. Ward is a outstanding book that makes cooking breads and muffins easier than other books, and whats most important it makes cooking fun. I would have to say that it's one of the most intriging books that are involed with making you understand the way to make a certain bread wihtout confusing you. Patricia if I may this is a book that is really worth buying, you won't reget buying this book like you would with other books. Her book has many worth-while making so my advice is to go out and buy this book, if I can do it you defenitly do it. -Amber Erin 13
