4.0 out of 5 stars Dalek Robot with Sound Very Fun Toy.
The minature DR. Who Talking Dalek Robot with Menicing Sounds ia a pretty cool little toy. The various parts move for posing including a rotating head. You can roll it on a table or desk top, carefully press down and activate the sound so it is talking as you roll it along. I bought two and just purchased another for a friend another DR. Who Fanzee like myself. Nate Goodman Salt Lake, Utah U.S.A.

This toy was a gift for a friend's cube and it's size makes it a perfect fit. It's noticeable without being intrusive, and is made of a durable plastic. The voice is a little low but can be understood perfectly. The "arms" are small but also fairly durable. Would not recommend for children due to the small parts, but makes a great toy/collectible for an older child or adult fan of Doctor Who.

5.0 out of 5 stars dalek from Dr. Who, October 4, 2007

I think this is great. I bought it as a gift and am now buying another one for another Dr. Who fan because I liked it so much. I think they will have a lot of fun keeping it on their desks at work. They are both adults. I don't think it would be suitable for small children. I think the price was fine and the description states the size, so no surprise there.

I was lucky enough to have had the prior reviews my fellow buyers were nice enough to leave for potential buyers so we might know what best to do with what might be a difficult package opening. After having read that this toy is delicate and to be handled very carefully, I knew as a grownup with a great sense of humor I would be able to handle this. Next was getting it out of the box without the wire destroying the toy. The way I handled this was to simply cut off the wires close to the holes from which they extend, which is fine because the wire serves no purpose after disengaging from the box that secures the toy. So once you cut the wire, you are good to go -- it's just a press of the head or the switch at the bottom for sound, and a friction roll backwards and let go forward like little cars provide for good forward movement. So just do what I recommend, and you, too, can be threatened with extermination and other indignities, as much and as often as you like!!!

I got 2 of these and they were a bit hard to get out of hte box. REally wired in not to move. I had to take the bottom off one to get it out. But they are fun and both guys loved them. Good little dr who gadget.

3.0 out of 5 stars damaged dalek, November 24, 2008
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: 2.5" Classic Doctor Who Talking Dalek with Menacing Dalek Motion (One Random Color Dalek) (Toy)
My dalek got damaged while I was opening it. It is almost impossible to get the holding wires off without unscrewing the bottom. This is the same part you will need to unscrew to change the batteries eventually. There is a very small part which is unsecured, and will fall out unnoticed when you unscrew the bottom. It is the part that you push on to make your dalek talk, and when you pull back on your dalek to make the wheels turn, it acts as a glider so that your dalek rolls around easily. Now to make my dalek talk, I have to insert a very small probe to push the button, and my dalek does not roll around at all, even though the wheels work well. Otherwise, I would love my dalek.2.5" Classic Doctor Who Talking Dalek with Menacing Dalek Motion (One Random Color Dalek)

Ok, I bought this with a gift certificate, so it's ok that I paid more for shipping than the toy. I don't think that the toy is worth what I paid for it. It's a little overpriced and if it wasn't for the gift card, I wouldn't have touched it.

It is fun to "play" with. I keep it on my desk and play the sound when I need a distraction. It talks when you press down on the head. The arms and the eye are movable. The head can turns too (all by hand, of course). If you drag it backwards and let it go, it will move forwards like a windup toy car. And that's the "Menacing Dalek Motion" they advertise. It's not menacing, but it looks cool if you're a Dalek fan.

Thats it.
