4.0 out of 5 stars Basic D&D boxed sets, February 4, 2010
This review is from: The Classic Dungeons & Dragons Game Boxed Set: Epic Adventures With Wizards, Dragons, and Magic! (Hardcover)
There have been several boxed sets for Dungeons and Dragons over the years. This boxed set was the last one that came out that I am aware of. The first came out in the 1970's followed by a couple more in the 1980s. This set came out in 1994 I think and was the last before D&D was discontinued and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons became just D&D.

This boxed set was simple and straightforward. It taught the D&D Basic game pretty well, had a DM screen, about 6 plastic miniatures and some samples of play and a couple short sample adventures to help get the rules down. All in all it was enjoyable and if someone were looking to start a classic game of D&D with their kids or some friends this boxed set would be a good start.

Because there are several different basic D&D boxed sets out there I want to make sure everyone is clear which one I am reviewing:
