pictorial electric guitar history,

This review is from: Classic Electrics A Visual History Of Great Guitars (Paperback)
This is an enjoyable pictorial history divided into Solid-Bodies and Hollow-Bodies. Each picture includes a short description of the instrument, what year the pictured guitar was built and a time-frame of production. I wouldn't say the descriptions are a thorough piece-by-piece explanation of construction, but highlights of each instrument. I would have given it 5 stars if it would have had more detail in the descriptions. Overall, It's a book fans of electric guitar will enjoy.

This book has the right idea but not enough about imported guitars. It is great for photo identification but no price guide is included. If you love guitars you will like this book but don't count on having the one you probably have in your closet in it.

This was a gift for my uncle who is an avid guitar collector. It was a hit and he was thrilled to have it. If you are looking for an affordable gift for a guitar enthusiast, this is the one to get.

This review is from: Classic Electrics A Visual History Of Great Guitars (Paperback)
This color photo illustrated history of classic guitars offers the full history of the electric guitar, from the hollowbodies of jazz of the 1940s and 50s to the solidbodies that rewrote the history of rock in the 1960s and 70s. An A-Z encyclopedic format outlines over 350 models from over 70 manufacturers, making for an outstanding survey essential to any music library and many a general interest collection.
