No kevlar or even plastic hard surface to block hard blows. This product unfortunately is not as advertised. It's a decent no turn bell boot, but it's similar to the others out there in that it is just neoprene. The only true difference is the suede material on the back which is also soft. I have a horse that plays really hard in the pasture and was hoping these would have the kevlar like advertised to help him since he clips his heels a lot when playing, no such luck. They are totally flexible, no kevlar.
