The large color pictures in this book make it very easy to use and the instructions are clear and concise. Most yoga books are full of philosophy and tangents but this one focuses on physical stretching. I noticed a measurable improvement in the first week and I feel better too.

This book is terrific. Most yoga books are so complicated, you want to give up before you even begin. The book is divided into 3 "courses", or levels, of difficulty. The illustrations are actually large color photographs which are a terrific help in performing the exercises. This is the best book I've found for learning yoga basics.

This book is great for the beginner or those who are more advanced. It starts of with an explanation into the different types of yoga. This book deals with Hatha yoga (which is the physical aspect of yoga). You are then guided through a great warmup and onto 3 different levels of postures. You can start with the basic and as you improve move onto the more advanced levels. The pictures are full color and easy to follow. Breathing techniques for each move is explained along with the physical benefits. The only drawback is minor - the book is not easy to lay flat, so following the pictures is a little frustrating like this. However, I fully recommend this book.
