We have no less than thirty wheels in the backyard installed on pedalless bikes, multiple tricycles, big wheels, wagons.... all sorts of stuff. Of the three tricycles I currently have this Kettler 12" is the best built and most stable by a long shot. It's higher quality than any other wheeled toy we have. The ergonomics are excellent as well. It is a larger tricycle and I recommend you consider another model if your kid is not >35 inches tall and they may still need to grow into it. My daughter is just under 4yo, 38" tall and about 37lbs. I have the seat on its lowest setting and it just about perfect for her.... this is for 3.5year old kids and up unless you have a big kid!
The seat is painted white probably to reduce hot-seat due to sun exposure.
The quality of hardware and manufacturing is surprisingly nice.
The only thing I had to figure out was the bell. It may be in the instructions, but there is a stud that the top half of the bell screws on for assembly. On this stud is a nut that sets the height at which the top half of the bell seats. I installed mine too far down and the bell would not ring. Just play around with the nut and stud to get the proper height on the upper bell half.
This is an excellent buy and a quality tricycle. I previously bought the low profile Schwinn tricycle with inner tubes and rubber tires and it just got ignored if you know what I mean. Plus the tires were half flat all the time. For the smaller kid I have a fold to go radio flyer tricycle that flips over if you look at it funny... not nice at all. After seeing how nice this kettler was designed I decided to replace the radio flyer tricycle with the kettrike Kalista... it has a frame that adjusts and a lower seat than the fold to go radio flyer. It costs twice as much but it's worth the extra money.
We have a tall 2 year old and this tricycle is too big for him right now. I would recommend a 10" if your child isn't at least 2.5 years old.
Outside of that, the tricycle is of high quality and will be well used for us in the near future.
Update: Almost a year later, she is just starting to learn to ride it for real and can finally reach the peddles. She is 2.5 now, and I know she'll get a couple of years use out of this.
Well-built, heavy-duty construction. Looks like it will stand up to a decent amount of abuse from my kids. Easy to put together.
Heavy (which makes it harder to pedal), but it also acts as a speed limiter for my toddler.

Love. Bought a little early for my grandson, but my sons in their 20s who put together thought it was good quality. Bell, a bit tight.Published 1 month ago by Catherine
Daughter loves it and very similar to the one I had growing up.Published 3 months ago by Nicole Cuneo
Great first bike for my son, however he can't reach the pedals just yet...Published 5 months ago by Craig V. Halcromb
My 3 year old great grand daughter loved the trike. She rides it everywhere over here. It was fairly easy to put together and she loves the old fashioned horn. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Kindle Customer
Just like the one I had as a child, maybe better!! This is sturdy and durable, usable for a few years, and for a couple children.Published 7 months ago by Katie Bivens
It's a quality trike. It is heavy and sturdy, and not particularly "tippy" for it's size. It's a big trike, probably a bit large for a 3 year old. The seat is a bit weird. Read morePublished 11 months ago by Ellen Carlton
