Many of the recipes are very similar to my nana's. This was a great purchase.

This book is well-illustrated, and provides a point of departure for learning the basic techniques and taste profiles typical of eastern European cooking. Geared toward the novice cook, the book primarily relies on ingredients that can be easily found in local markets and is a great confidence-builder. Having mastered the basic techniques, it is easy to apply them to more complex dishes.
