What a neat book. Most of those hints still work just as well today even though we have many other products available. It also looks great on my bookcase in the cottage.

This is a fun book and I know that it will come in handy. Alot of the hints were used by my mother so I already knew them, but in this world of convenience, it's nice to know how to mix good cleaners for your home.

In a day when we are more and more going green, this book is a Godsend! There is all sorts of great tips and hints for maintaining a clean home the way our grandparents did. There is plenty of examples of amusing ways things were done "back in the day". The nostalgic artwork is lovely too, only wish some of it were larger. I love this book! Another Susan Wagonner gem!

I first checked this book out at the library, I liked it so much I bought it through Amazon. Its a nice relaxing book to kind of go back in time, love the drawings.

Retro books about the era I grew up in can be very entertaining. The new tips in the book took away from the overall retro feel. The illustrations are timeless. I purchased several for gifts to my grown children. They loved it.

I really thought it would have more funny out-dated practices or that it be entertaining in some way, but no, these are actually practical and logical solutions and it reads like a "How-To" article in a women's magazine. Probably a good gift for a newlywed or someone moving out on their own for the first time or something.

This was a gag gift for my 28 year old daughter. It been 4 weeks now, I haven't heard from her since....
