About the Author
D. A. Rajakaruna, the translator, is a Senior Professor in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He holds a postgraduate degree in Theatre and Cinema which he obtained from the University of Waseda in 1965. Subsequently, he received fellowships from the Japan Foundation and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and carried out research in the field of classical Japanese drama at the Universities of Tokyo and Kyoto. He has translated Noh and Kyogen plays, Modern Plays, Screenplays, etc from Japanese into Sinhalese, an official language of Sri Lanka. Early Summer is his first English translation
