Book Description

Tractor Legacy Series October 14, 2008

Nothing runs like a Deere, and no Deere has kept running as long and as well and with as passionate a following as the company’s two-cylinder tractors.  The most popular tractors by the world’s favorite tractor manufacturer, these stalwarts of agriculture and industry get their due in this fascinating, fully detailed, extensively illustrated history.  New photographs by tractor specialist Jeff Hackett, along with the latest comprehensive information, make this book the most complete and up-to-date account of America’s iconic tractors ever published.  Color photographs and archival black and white images accompany John Dietz’s engaging chronicle of the history of two-cylinder tractors, model by model. The result is an unprecedented look at the tractors that have transcended the realm of farm equipment to become quintessential Americana.

4.0 out of 5 stars like a DEERE short story ...., August 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
for the info buff and book reader ; good stuff !! for the info only guy , lotta FLUFF in book , but it is all connected one way or the other . LOTTA back tracking and skipping around , however , each chapter is almost a stand alone book rather than sequence so as to cover each model well . parallels to other brands and makers and historic events tucked in REALLY piques my interest . i am a FORD type that owns an inexpensive JD-B and finding the book enjoyable . compared to other things one could buy , this is well worth the price . i have it on KINDLE and my 50+ yr eyes prefer it . so , drop some cash , learn , READ , expand that grey matter !! be a smarter and know WHY or WHY NOT John Deere more than before ....
