4.0 out of 5 stars Almightly RSO are back...
Made Men used to go by "The Almighty RSO". During the late 80's RSO was ahead of their time with hardcore, unapologetic gang rap. It's pretty decent, but the best parts are thanks to all the guest appearances. The best song is "Not The One" featuring MONIFAH.

Made Men used to go by "The Almighty RSO". During the late 80's RSO was ahead of their time with hardcore, unapologetic gang rap. Album covers featured RSO in fresh Adidas warm ups brandishing pistols. These boys made some noise years ago around 93-94 with "One in the Chamba", but because of explicit subject matter the management label (Tommy Boy) decided to suppress the single. Tommy Boy was better known for stuff like De La Soul and the UMCs. I tried to track down a copy for months to no avail when I was in college. When I saw the video I recognized them from the album cover and I picked it up. Very, Very strong. I can see why these guys have stayed on for so long. Recommended

4.0 out of 5 stars Impressive, May 4, 2000

The Made Men's debut alblum is one of the better alblums to come out in 1999. It features some phenomenal cuts, as well as some forgetable ones. The highlight would have to be "Tommy's Theme" which features a stellar performance by The Lox. This joint packs an ill beat and some powerful lyrics, defenetly a hit. "Right Now" and "Blowin Circles In The Wind" are also two very strong offerings from this Boston trio, "Right Now" will get anyone at your party crunk, it's a shame none of these gems are on the radio. Unfortunatley, those are the only three tracks that are really good. Granted, there are some others that are hot, but they get old after a while. After a while, some of the songs start to sound alike and you get tired of listening. However, with three incredible joints and a host of other strong offerings, CLASSIC LIMITED EDITION features very little material that can be criticized. If you're going to come into the rap game, this is the way to do it.

I bought this cd expecting not too much, but I bought a classic. There is so many hot joints on this album and it will keep you happy forever, out of the 19 tracks, 17 are hot!! (You dont get that all the time) The song "Sticky Situation" with Montell Jordan is my favorite but there is sumthin for everyone on here! About time Made Men are finally gettin some credit they deserve, or at least from me. Buy It!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good album from the "Made Men", April 13, 2006

Benzino left the Almighty RSO and founded the Made Men with Antonio Twice Thou & Mr. Gzus and put this out in 99. With 19 songs you get a lot of material and guests as well. Antonio Twice Thou is on 18 songs, Mr. Gzus is on 16, and Benzino is on 14. Of the 19, 1 is a classic, 1 or 2 I skip, 3 or 4 ar eok and the rest are good songs. This was before Benzino was in his beef with the, at the time, not well known Eminem (who just came out 6-8 months prior to this release. Production is tight and mostly handled by Hangmen 3 (like all projects Benzino is involved with) doing 13 of the 19 songs. L.E.S. does 2 songs, Daz Dillinger & Soopafly, Dame Grease, Kanye West (this is the 1st song I ever heard him produce), and D-Dot all do 1 song. A nice album to have for your collection.

#2 - 7.5 (Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou)
#4 - 5 ((Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou f/ master P & Keva)
#6 - 8 (Antonio Twice Thou -- nice beat)
#7 - 9 ((Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou - tight beat)
#9 - 8.5 ((Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou f/ Man Terror & Tanya Von -- upbeat song)
#10 - 9 (Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou -- tight beat)
#11 - 10 CLASSIC! (Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou f/ the LOX -- also on the "Belly Soundtrack" -- great beat)
#12 - 9 (Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou -- deeper song w/ nice beat)
#14 - 8.5 (Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou f/ Montell JOrdan)
#15 - 8 ((Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou f/ Ma$e, Big Pun (R.I.P.), cardan)
#16 - 7.5 (Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou f/ Ranger)
#17 - 8 ((Benzino, Mr. Gzus, Antonio Twice Thou f/ Mike McNeil)
#18 - 8.5 )Antonio Twice Thou, Mr. Gzus f/ Tangg, Pahedrae)

4.0 out of 5 stars Something Different, February 1, 2002
This review is from: Classic Limited Edition (Audio CD)
it's good to know that East Coast rap extends beyond New York. This album is a great portrayal of the other east coast city-boston. I personally like all of the songs except for the one with master p. I may have given it 5 stars but the skits are too many. Anyways, my personal faveorites are blowin' circles, also track 24 and 25 are dope. This album shows that you should not sleep on Boston.

yo, don't be sleepin on these Made Men! I heard them off the DJ Clue album, and this CD is phat. These guys might not have the visibility of Puffy or others, but they hold their on...this joint is worth the $...you won't be disappointed...even the Interludes are good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hotttttt, May 5, 2004
This review is from: Classic Limited Edition (Audio CD)
Hot album.
Tommy's Theme ft. The LOX
Blowin' Circles In The Wind
Not The One (That B**ch Is Done)
15 Years In
Sticky Situation ft. Montell Jordan

are all fire just to name a few. The only problem with the album was it had too many skits and it was too long. Almost 80 minutes. It literaly was 1 or 2 songs away from being able to be sold as a double disc. Even some of the greatest rappers ever had problems dropping a album with this long and with this many tracks(Jay-Z for example with The Blueprint 2). If they would have trimmed it down to about 60 minutes with the best 17 or 18 tracks it would have been a CLASSIC!
