Some hard to find songs are here among these 30 CLASSICS from TIME LIFE., June 17, 2010
This review is from: Classic Love Songs of Rock 'N' Roll, Vol. 8 (Audio CD)
Here in this double c.d. set are some hard to find songs.
I've looked a long time before I found this excellent buy
that contains many classics I've been looking for.
The price is irristable.
Some highlights of this set are:
1. "Mama didn't lie" by Jan Bradley #14 in 1963.
Her biggest hit of only two to chart.
2. "Susie Darlin" by Robin Luke #5 in 1958. His only charted hit.
3. "My heart is an open book" by Carl Dobkins Jr. #3 in 1959.
His biggest hit of four to chart.
4. "Book of love" The Monotones #5 in 1958.
Their only song to chart.
5. "Born to late" by The Poni-Tails #7 in 1958.
Their biggest hit of only three songs to chart
6. "You don't have to be a baby to cry" by The Caravelles #3 in 1963.
Their biggest hit of only two songs to chart.
7. "Navy blue" by Diane Renay #6 in 1964.
Her biggest hit of only two songs to chart.
8. "Walk on by' by Leroy Van Dyke #5 in 1961.
His biggest hit of only three to make the pop chart.
9. "Sad movies" by Sue Thompson #5 in 1961.
Her second biggest to chart. Her biggest hit was "Norman" #3 in 1961.
10."Sugar shack" by Jimmy Gilmer & the Fireballs #1 in 1963.
Their biggest hit of 11 to chart.
Many of these artists are found only on compilations,
so this is a great place to get these songs mixed in with many other great classics.
These songs were more then enough for me to buy this c.d.,
but all of the 30 tracks are great classics!
