Finally! All the Motels' hits...REMASTERED!,

Martha Davis is a terrific singer and songwriter, and it is a pleasure to finally have all her hits with the Motels on one beautifully remastered disk! These songs have never sounded better! From the crisp sound of "Take The L" to the refreshed layers of "Suddenly Last Summer, " this CD is pure listening pleasure. "Only The Lonely" is moodier than ever, and "Shame" demands to be turned up as loud as the stereo will go. Any '80s fan's collection is severely lacking without this disk! It simply blows the Motels' perviously released "No Vacancy: Best of the Motels" out of the water. Highly recommended!

Great CD! Finally a Greatest Hits package from this fine 80s band that includes their best song "Mission of Mercy" along with their other great songs. Far better than "No Vacancy" which excludes Mission (inexcusable) & includes some other tunes that are mediocre at best. The remastered sound is also superior!

After years of neglect by Capitol Records in keeping life-long fans and potential new fans from much of The Motels catalog, finally Capitol has released an awesome CD with some awesome songs. Besides giving full quality to these timeless classics, the big treat is having "Some Things Never Change" (studio version) finally finding itself on a CD. Ok, Capitol Records, we're ready for more...how about rereleasing Careful and Shock? Or better yet, sign Martha back on so we can hear her new awesome tunes at our leisure!

If you even just like a couple of there songs & have a half way decent stereo - car or home - you owe it to yourself to get this CD. Might be the finest remastering I have ever heard. Stunning audio. Of course I am a fan of the Motels so I found all the tracks on this CD most excellent. Again I can't state enough how AMAZING the sound quality on this CD is. I was truly blown away. Get one and see..............peace.............

Here's Another 5-Star Rating! The Others Are Right! Excellent Sound!,

This entire disc sounds fantastic! In 2002, Capitol Records threw out several of these 'Classic Masters' releases, emphasizing the 24-bit digitally remastered sound. These recordings have never sounded better! I've bought several 'Classic Masters' releases and have only been disappointed by the sound quality of the Pat Benatar release.
The Motels' songs sound crisp, full, and clear. It's amazing how well these songs have been tweaked from their original master tapes. The 1979 hit, "Total Control", is a perfect example. Not many recordings from 1979 sound this punchy! Jump forward a few years later to 1982 and hear the brilliant sound of "Only The Lonely" with it's blaring sax section. Woah! With the sonic upgrade aside many fans may complain about the tracklisting. The 'Classic Masters' series tends to stick to around a dozen tracks. Tracks are going to be missing, and we are missing several hits here. However, those missing tracks are nicely replaced by several key recordings here, namely the beautiful, breathtaking "Some Things Never Change" (b-side of "Suddenly Last Summer"). I had never heard the song previously to buying this compilation. Ending the disc on a high, it's now become one of my favorite Motels tracks. Despite the tracklisting I have to give this release a solid 5-star rating for the mastering and the inclusion of "Some Things Never Change". I'm glad I grabbed my copy when I did since the release is now unfortunately out of print.
