Without a doubt some of the tracks will sound like outdated early R&B, dance tracks because, well, that's what they are. However, this duo was just as hot if not hotter than other duos of the era such as Peaches & Herb, Ashford and Simpson, etc. Also, like Ashford and Simpson, Rene and Angela would write and even perform instruments and background vocals for an early Janet Jackson album and a Rufus and Chaka Khan comeback (out of print) album. It was the strong and sensual vocal harmonies that Rene Moore and Angela Winbush produced that gave them a certain edge over other imitators of their style.Rene's vocal style was less aggressive than Angela's yet they created beautiful music together.It wasn't until their smash 1985 LP titled Street Called Desire that would catapult them to R&B stardom that would go beyond their previous success with just the dance club going faithful. Still, this Classic Masters Collection offers some remarkable memories of those hot summer nights listening to that R&B station in Anywhere, USA !

This cd presents four tracks from each of R&A's first three albums. They are beautifully remastered and give a good sampling of the early efforts of this duo. The liner notes are informative. The music itself is an uneven affair, as the duo try to find their sound in the years of 1980, 1981, and 1983. Each track is full-length, making this cd worth the price just for "I Love You More."

This CD that I ordered Classic Masters, I have been looking for, for a long time. It holds lots of special memorys for me. It came out of the 80's, when music was real music. Could be better but not bad either. Missing some songs like Angel and Your Smile, but if you're a Rene and Angela fan, it's worth a listen.

A definite must have for any " Rene & Anthony" fan to own. Own this CD in your personal collection you will impress your friend!!!!!!

No one does it like Rene and Angela. This is an excellent example of when music was truly music and one could feel the intensity behind the words. I purchased this cd for one song but after receiving it, I was taken back to days and times pass.
