Editorial Reviews

These campy classic feminine hygiene films discuss the menstrual cycle, having your first period and the female reproductive system. Common physical and emotional symptoms such as pms, cramps and bleeding and the proper application of tampons and feminine napkins are covered at length. Table Of Contents: (1) Molly Grows Up (1953) - A rather sexist film, Molly Grows Up, presents the basics of the menstrual cycle to a young girl. Classroom lessons and advice from family teach the young teenage girl what to expect and how to manage her menstruations. The film was sponsored by the Personal Products Corporation, which delicately plugs its line of feminine products in the film - 14 Minutes (2) Naturally A Girl (1973) - Interviews with teenagers and concise graphics explain the female reproductive system and the menstrual cycle. The film asks and answers the following questions among others: "What happens to the menstrual flow when it leaves the body?" "How often should you change feminine napkins?" "How do you dispose of feminine napkins?" "Does every girl cramps during her period?" and "Does everyone know when you are menstruating?" The film was sponsored by the Personal Products Corporation, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson - 11 Minutes
