The pictures give a very clear view of the fabric descriptions connected with them. It is very much a wonderful resource!

For anyone who sews and needs to know more about fabrics than the back of the pattern envelope tells you, this book is enormously helpful. If you sew period costumes, it also helps when deciding to use a modern fabric as a substitute for one used during the histrionic period of the costume you are making.
If you have a fabric which you cannot identify, this book leads you by the hand so you no longer have "mystery cloth", a great help with inherited remnants.
