I really enjoy this mug and keeps my coffee hot in the morning. The handle seems to be a bit misshaped. When you grab the handle your fingers slip to touch the side of the mug, which burns yours fingers!
This mug is attractive and solidly built. It's got a nice shine to it, and it doesn't feel like it's going to break. I would give it 5 stars except for a couple minor things:
- I'm not sure if this is the fault of the tea or the material of the mug, but my tea has stained the mug a bit, leaving a brown ring at the top. And I'm not leaving full cups of tea in there overnight or anything; it's just about 15 minutes at a time (while I wait for the tea to cool to drinking temperature). - The mug does get quite hot. This generally isn't a problem, but sometimes my fingers slip while I'm holding the handle and my fingers or hand end up touching the body of the mug. OUCH! Be careful!
I really liked my cup like this, then I knocked it off the counter and broke it, I went to Starbucks to buy another one and found that this style is no longer sold by them, they have a new model of the same size cup, the new one looks very similar except it has a Matte finish which I like better. The new model is also sold on Amazon for a much lower price. Here is the link for the new style: Starbucks Modern Classic Mug, 16oz
I sent it as a birthday gift for my mother. My mother stole one of my fav coffee mugs 14 years ago. As a gag, she sent me back the old mug when she received this one. It holds 2 cups of normal coffee (8oz each) in one mug, which is perfect for her. She loves the handle and the lip around the rim. If she is happy, I am happy.
