John Muir is the most inspiring writer on nature that I'veever found. He puts you in the scene and makes you see it, smell it, feel it and desire it. Despite having written more than 100 years ago, his message is even more vital today. His natural brilliance (he was an inventor), he memorized the entire new testament, and keen observer of nature, people and life. If I could have dinner with anyone in history, it just might be John Muir. His books have absolutely captivated me. And read Stickeen for the best Dog story ever written. |
