Disney has rediscovered the beauty of the original Pooh Bear, as I have been seeing a lot of Classic Pooh items in stores and on-line recently. The simplicity of E.H. Shepard's illustrations for the A.A. Milne books speak of a less complicated time, and were books that many of my generation grew up on. This wonderful Pooh has unadorned light tan coloring, with only some silky footpads on his bottom paws, and the appearance of black sewn-on eyes and nose. The effect is achieved by sewing on cloth shaped as the eyes and nose, and also provides safety, as once you remove the tag (which doubles as a gift card) and fastener there is nothing to fall off that is sharp or could harm or choke a child.

The Classic Pooh has an ungainly form with the tummy of a bear that eats too much honey, and a very intelligent face with a high forehead and close set eyes. Pooh was my best friend during my first few years on this strange planet, and now being able to have a Classic Pooh as a plush bear is a joy and nurtures the child within. He is squishable and huggable, machine washable, and made of a 100% polyester fabric that resembles chenille. The tag says "birth and up," and there is no limit to the "up." The older folks will appreciate this Classic Pooh too, as he will hold many memories. Pooh is plain but beautiful, Pooh is wise, and Pooh is love.

I bought this as a gift, but now I want one! He's very soft and squeezable; everyone at the baby shower had to hug him. For the people who were wondering, he's about 13-14" tall, depending on whether you count the ears.

This toy is the only stuffed animal you need. He's soft, fuzzy, and not the everyday type of bear you come across. Take my word for it, when it comes to this bear you're never too old or too young for him, and once you buy him you're going to want the classic Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger to complete your collection. These toys are not styled after Disney's version of Winnie the Pooh, but of the original illustrations by Earnest Shepard in the classic books. It's good that finally someone thought of sticking to the original and not to Disney's perspective. The only thing I am not happy about is that they didn't make an Owl, rabbit, kanga or roo. Though I hope they'll change their minds. Trust me, you won't regret this purchase one bit!

Uhhhh yeah, am I the only one that picked this up at Target a few months ago for only 17 bucks? I dont see how Pooh is $40-$50 everywhere else...i guess I was lucky! He's BEAUTIFUL though, soft and cuddly! I'm glad I got him at a bargain!

It would be helpful to have dimensions of products since I'm looking for a match to other Pooh characters and want them to be in the same size range.

Pooh came to us in record time in perfect shape.
My Grand Daughter had a small version of the Classic Pooh
and lost him. This Pooh was the only one we could find
that resembled her lost one. He is much larger; but we changed him to a girl,
cut off half of his left ear and mended it and put a belly button on him. Now he is almost like
her old one. The old one was a girl Pooh and had been carried everyday for 6 years.

This Classic Pooh Bear is our 5 1/2-yr. old son's lovey, and has been since he was about one. Sadly, ours is beginning to look as if he's been through a war - so much loving, lots of baths over the years, etc. The soft and hugable factor does cause the stuffing to break down quite a bit if he's well-loved! He does wash extremely well, and can be machine dried quickly - an ABSOLUTE MUST - as in younger years ours was needed for every nap and even now, Pooh still goes to bed with our son every night! So, I'm on here for a replacement - and we'll see if he'll take to it :)

Soft and cuddly like every pooh should be. I bought this for a friends baby shower along with a classic pooh book and crinkly infant book. It was adorable.

I got this as a gift for my best friend. She absolutely loved it. It is the best thing in the world for cuddling. He is soft and fluffy and just all around amazing. I can not put into words how beyond satisfied I am with the quality of this bear. PLUS It's the perfect size for a bigger kid. Best purchase EVER!

This was a gift for my soon-to-be baby grandson. I had it shipped to my daughter-in-law and when she received it she was VERY pleased!! She said it was so very soft and a good size bear.
