Book Description

June 14, 2004 8 and up3 and upDover Pictorial Archives
Sixteen illustrations depict masterpieces by Steinlen, Toulouse-Lautrec, Chéret, Bradley, Mucha, and 7 other noted 19th-century artists. Black-and-white line drawings — depicting advertisements for well-known cabarets, periodicals, and food products — will produce lovely stained glass effects when colored and placed near a source of bright light. Notes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Waxed paper, July 31, 2009

This review is from: Classic Posters Stained Glass Coloring Book (Dover Pictorial Archives) (Paperback)
I'm new to the idea of coloring books - most of my artistic efforts are ridiculously disproportionate (or otherwise bad) sketches that I color in. I ordered a whole bunch of coloring books from Amazon one night, including this one, and I was surprised to see that the pages are sort of like waxed paper. I guess that's where the "Stained Glass" part comes in.

We own a lot of brands of colored pencils and the Polychromos seem to work best on this paper.
