This is a delight. No stuffy studio kitchens here; we are transported into the homes of real people who show us the step-by-step methods of creating superb food. The only problem with this video is that it is too short. Bring on the sequel ! Whether or not you are Jewish, there is a lot to learn about cooking traditional and delicious food. It is both entertaining and instructive.

Oh, come on. It's Joan Nathan. This is a joy to behold as she accompanies some of her favorite people as they make their famous recipes like cheesecake (have made this numerous times), challah, gefilte fish (an absolute joy to watch). Pick up some great pointers as you watch the food being prepared - make sure you're not hungry before watching or be sure to have a snack handy. Your mouth will water.

Rented VHS from library. Hannukah came again and remembered this video and bought it. Challah bread, gelfite fish, brisket, cheescake, chicken stock, etc. I recently saw more information on this video at PBS website and Joan Nathan's website.
